If you need to change any appointments please contact me in the days before 9/24. Alternatively you can adjust appointments via the online booking portal up to 48 hours prior to your appointment or anytime for future appointments. You can find the link to do so in your text or email confirmations.

I have also opened up some other availability so if you have been waiting for an appointment please check the booking portal for appointment times.

A little transparency about my upcoming price adjustment 🤍

A lot has changed behind the scenes over the past year and a half.

• My Washington professional licensing costs have increased. I maintain two licenses—Cosmetology and Nail Technician.

• Rent increases annually, along with utilities, Wi-Fi and cellular service.

• The professional equipment I rely on to provide safe, high-quality services requires ongoing maintenance, servicing and eventual replacement—including my medical autoclave and podology equipment. Equipment doesn't last forever, and setting aside money for replacement is part of responsibly maintaining my professional business.

• Following the Spokane Complex fires, my business insurance recently increased by nearly 50%. I have carried this coverage for more than eight years, and for years it was one of the most affordable quotes I received after comparing numerous providers. I was told the increase was due to inflation and rising costs.

• Backbar products, professional supplies, disposables, cleaning and sanitation supplies have all increased—including disinfectants, gloves, paper products, laundry detergent and the many supplies required to keep the salon exceptionally clean and sanitary.

• Shipping costs have increased.

• The cost of the software and professional services that keep my business running—booking, bookkeeping, accounting and tax preparation—has increased.

• Maintaining a professional online presence also comes with ongoing costs, including website hosting, domain and email services, SEO, marketing, advertising and social media.

• Payment processing fees, business taxes and other operating expenses continue to add up.

• Continuing education is an investment I intentionally make so I can continue providing the safest, most knowledgeable and highest-quality services possible.

And then there is the part that doesn't show up on your receipt:

The time spent answering messages outside of appointment hours, managing the waitlist, ordering + shopping for supplies, doing laundry, cleaning and sanitizing the salon, maintaining equipment, keeping inventory stocked and making sure every detail of your experience is cared for.

Even the little things add up—cozy blankets, heated neck wraps, snacks and beverages, and the many comforts I provide because I want your time at Olivine to feel special.

I also currently maintain a consistent waitlist and, at times, have to refer clients to other providers because I simply don't have the availability to accommodate everyone.

This adjustment isn't about charging more simply because I can. It's about keeping Olivine sustainable while continuing to provide the level of care, time, safety and quality that I believe you deserve.

I am incredibly grateful for every person who chooses to spend their time and money with my small business. Your continued trust and support allows me to keep doing this work in a way that is intentional, personal and true to what I created Olivine to be over 10 years ago.

PRICE UPDATE & SERVICE SHIFT

Starting October 1st, there will be a small price adjustment to a few services to better reflect the time, care, and rising costs involved in offering a high-standard experience.

As many of you know, manicure appointments have been waitlist-only, and after much thought, I’ve made the decision to begin phasing out structured manicures.

There are so many talented nail techs in our area offering beautiful manicures, but I’ve noticed there are far fewer specialists in thoughtful, focused pedicure care. I’m feeling called to lean into what my community needs most and where I feel most aligned—providing high-quality, wellness-focused pedicure, skincare and other beauty services.
