shaping is a fascinating and technical topic that needs hours and hours of content to fully cover in depth.

but in summary, tapered shapes can’t be done on short nails without overfiling.

And even on long natural nails, corrections need to be made because at the appropriate amount of length for a tapered shape, natural nails twist, curve, grow down or up, crooked and everything in between.

You’re not going to get a structurally sound AND symmetrical tapered shape on all 10 nails without making some kind of correction on a natural nail🤷🏻‍♀️

but a good start is to not offer OR teach tapered shapes on short/medium nails👍🏼

honestly, I asked for this by taking over a week to get my base on😅

good thing we can make it right with silk wrap! I got this Magpie one from Polished Pinkies | Nail Supply & Education 💅🏼 and love it! It’s sticky on the backside too so it really helps it stay in place while you’re getting it laid down.

I also use this to fix stress cracks when I come across them! You can use NINN10 to save a little extra too🫶🏼
