This is a perfect example of “blending grays,” not completely covering them with a 💯 permanent color. I use a hybrid Redken formula to achieve these results!
Why gray blending instead of complete coverage?
1) Softer grow out, no harsh skunk stripe. Think of it more as staining the hair as it will fade slightly with shampooing.
2) Easier to lighten through if you decide you need some blonde.
3) Faster service=less time in the salon! Only 20 minutes to process!
4)Some clients choose to go longer between touch ups because of the softer demarcation line!

Yes, I will balayage hair that is dark, below a level 6 without foils! We just have to make sure you love warmth as with any open air balayage service. Why is this? We don’t get as high a lift when we don’t incubate the hair in foils. So if you love warmth, the blended beauty and not having to have your highlights retouched every 12-16 weeks give it a try!

Met a new client today! She was looking for a softer grow out since she travels for work and can’t always make it routinely to a hairstylist. We decided on balayage in the back, foils in the front, since she likes more brightness framing her face. Followed it with a root smudge for a seamless blend, all over gloss and a trim!
