A little reminder that contrast is what makes highlights pop 🍿

Exact same head of hair — I just changed the contrast in the second photo to appear as if the base is lighter.

When there’s less of a difference between how light your highlights are and how dark your base is, everything looks softer and more blended. Add more depth and suddenly those same highlights look much brighter. OR vice versa you need your highlights to be lifted way lighter to see a significant difference in contrast if you have a light base.

Contrast = dimension = brighter-looking highlights ✨

Skinny on top, thick where it counts🫡

Just kidding but really, keeping highlights really ‘skinny’ + soft at the root, then melting into slightly thicker, bolder pieces through the mids and ends gives you all the dimension without making the root feel stripey or overly highlighted. Best of both worlds if I do say so myself 🌎 🌍

A U-shaped haircut is exactly what it sounds like ; the perimeter of the hair is cut into a soft “U” shape, so it’s slightly shorter toward the front/sides and gradually gets longer toward the center of the back.

Save this for your next haircut inspo!

Repeat after me friends: we work with what we’ve got 🗣️

I simply do not have the density in my hairline to support thick bangs—a lot of people don’t!

Density, cowlicks + the actual shape of your hairline determine how much hair we have to work with and where it naturally wants to fall. The exact same bang can look completely different on two people which is why bangs can only be custom cut to YOUR hair, not copied exactly from a picture.

So what I CAN have are nice flowy curtain bangs & I’ll take what I can get for this 5️⃣ head 🤭

Swipe for a MAJORRRR throwback photo to when I attempted heavier bangs…and you may think it looks good but notice how the photo is cut off 😂 because I had to start those mofos so far back on my head to even get a little bit of thicker bang and it looked absolutely bizarre irl🤷🏼‍♀️

I love this tone always, but especially on a darker base.

Creamy (hate that word but🤷🏼‍♀️) beige tones soften the contrast between dark brunette + blonde, making everything feel more blended while still keeping neutral brightness. Not too warm, not too cool 😎& flattering to all skin tones .

Let’s get away from ash shall we?💨👽🌚

Calling this Autumnal blonde 🍂 mainly because I just started using that word and now I can’t stop 🤷🏼‍♀️ you should only say the word autumnal in a British accent btw

Anyway, caramel-golden-beige tones to brighten her warm light brown natural base 🤌🏻

What’s your plan for fall hair color? Only a couple more months til I pop out this baby friends! Get on my books asap 👶🏻 🤎

This is one of my favorite ways to give you that high-impact, “I feel BLONDE” look without signing you up for high-maintenance hair.

Keeping dimension with softer ribbons near the root gives you a less harsh grow-out, while brighter, more solid ends give you all the blonde impact.

Basically… maximum blonde, minimum commitment. 🤌🏼

Save this for your next hair inspo!

Hey yall! It’s me 👋🏻 Still doing hair, still taking new clients, still standing behind the chair despite getting increasingly huge 🤭🤰

Keep reading for maternity leave info!

My tentative last day before maternity leave is November 14th — assuming this little guy respects my scheduling preferences 👶🏻

If you need in September, October, or the first couple weeks of November, try to get on my books by mid-September.

I’m planning to be gone for about 6 weeks, and I have a few amazing coworkers who are willing to take care of anyone who needs an appointment while I’m out. So no, you will not be abandoned with inches of roots while I’m off learning how to keep a human alive 🙏🏻

Basically: book the hair appointment. I’m having a baby. We all need to plan accordingly. 😂😂😂
