Today we celebrate IDAHOBIT 2026 — the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia.

First observed in 2004, the day marks May 17, 1990, when homosexuality was removed from the World Health Organization’s list of mental illnesses. Since then, IDAHOBIT has become a global day of action, visibility and solidarity for LGBTQIA+ people.
This year’s theme, “At the Heart of Democracy”, reminds us that equality, dignity and human rights must belong to everyone. It serves as a powerful reminder that truly free and democratic societies must be grounded in meaningful equity, justice, and freedom for everyone, particularly in the face of rising anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation worldwide.

LGBTQIA+ people deserve to live openly, safely and authentically, free from discrimination, violence and exclusion.

Today we celebrate diversity, honour those who paved the way, and stand with all LGBTQIA+ people, especially those still fighting to be seen, accepted and protected.

Sidewalk repairs and tree removal are underway right in front of Glam & Tonics, leading to a temporary closure of our front entrance. We invite all our valued customers to USE THE REAR COURTYARD ENTRANCE, which can be accessed from East Lynn Street, until further notice. Don’t worry—clear directional signage will be set up to guide you effortlessly!

Rest assured, our regular operating hours will stay the same throughout this construction phase. Your safety is our top priority, so please be sure to exercise caution and follow all posted signs and instructions in the area. We truly appreciate your understanding and support as we work to improve our salon’s accessibility.
