I am expanding my practice and need to train and hire someone. They will be paid above scale. Read what I’ve written below about my philosophy in the treatment room and what I’m looking for in a therapist. If you are interested DM me and I will send you an application
My Treatment Philosophy
My approach is based on treating the whole person rather than simply treating the location of the symptoms. Pain is often influenced by fascial restrictions, movement and postural patterns, lifestyle factors, and unconscious patterns of muscular holding. My goal is to identify and address the underlying contributors to a client’s pain and help create lasting improvement rather than temporary relief.
Treatment is collaborative. I believe in working with the client, not simply on the client. This requires listening, observation, thoughtful assessment, clear communication, and adapting treatment to what the individual needs. Myofascial release should be patient and intentional, using sustained engagement rather than unnecessary force. Clients are also encouraged to become more aware of the patterns that may be contributing to their condition so they can participate in their own improvement.
The ultimate goal is not to keep someone coming indefinitely. Treatment should produce measurable improvement, and as the client improves, the frequency of treatment should decrease.
The Therapist I Am Looking For
I am looking for a therapist who wants to develop beyond simply performing massage techniques. The right person will be interested in learning to assess each client, think critically about what may be contributing to their condition, develop an appropriate treatment strategy, and evaluate how the client responds.
Technical skill can be taught. Just as important are qualities such as compassion, professionalism, integrity, reliability, curiosity, good communication, and the ability to listen and accept feedback. I want someone who is comfortable continuing to learn and who takes genuine responsibility for the quality of care they provide.
The therapist will be expected to learn and consistently apply my approach to myofascial release, maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality, communicate clearly with clients, document treatment appropriately, maintain a clean and professional treatment environment, and manage their appointments responsibly. They will also be expected to help clients understand their treatment plan and make appropriate recommendations for follow-up care.
Most importantly, I am looking for someone who wants to become a skilled therapeutic practitioner—not simply someone looking to fill hours on a schedule. The training and apprenticeship are intended to develop the clinical reasoning, hands-on skills, communication, and confidence necessary to eventually work independently while maintaining the standards of care associated with my practice .
