Your agency and autonomy is super important to me! I feel very honored to have your trust. I want you to feel comfortable and empowered while in the studio.
So in case you didn't already know, here's a little of my "what to expect".

It’s under 100° and officially autumn!! 🍂
As the heat loosens its grip and we slide into our version of fall, we can feel the shifts.
We’re not cooped up in our houses anymore. We’re stepping back into the world and remembering what it feels like to move through the day without having to plan around the sun's brutality.
Autumn here is subtle, but you can feel it! It's in the air, in your nervous system, in the way life becomes just a little more pleasant.
Come on in for all of your post-summer slump, travel recovery, and seasonal shift needs! ⚡
By popular demand!!
Not really, but this is one of the most frequent self-massage techniques I show my clients who report having super tight calves. And we all know a foam roller just doesn't get the right leverage.
Use a lacrosse ball, tennis ball, dowel, broom, or even a tightly rolled hand towel will do the trick.
Start from the behind the knee working down, spending 30seconds or so in each zone, or finding those specific spots that need some extra love.
Remember to breathe!
And don't go crazy trying to smash the tissue into oblivion!
Adjust as needed, hanging your ankles off something or using a rolled up towel to place under or sitting on a pillow (or 2) to make sure all of your joints are happy.
Stretch after or even move into a down dog sort of flow, peddling out the calves and see how they feel!
And if you're dealing with more than tension or post-workout soreness, then let's find someone who can help!
Happy self-massage mobility work Wednesday!

Heat, Reset, and the Last Days of Summer
As summer winds down, I’ve been reflecting on what these past few months have held — from finally finishing Stephen King's 11/22/63 and tackling puzzle after puzzle, to quiet dog walks, family time in Prescott, and keeping cool with Izzy through splash pads, library trips, and our little backyard pool.
It’s also hard to believe I’ve already been in my new studio for three months. The space has become such a comfortable, welcoming environment, and I’m excited to continue adding touches that make it even better.
A quick business update: I’ve been working through a lengthy Google verification issue that began in June, which has temporarily removed my business and hidden my reviews. While that’s being resolved, I’ve focused on strengthening my presence elsewhere. I’m now an accredited Better Business Bureau business, have dabbled in Yelp ads, and recently joined ClassPass as a partner again.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank‑you to everyone who has supported my massage therapy practice through all its transitions. Your referrals, encouragement, and loyalty mean more than I can express!
If you haven’t been in for a while, please know there’s no pressure. Life shifts, schedules change, finances dip, and I fully understand.
For those wanting more regular care (and a little savings), I offer shareable 5‑ and 10‑session packs for family and friends.
Wishing you a gentle end to summer — even though we all know it doesn’t really happen until Halloween.
See you soon,
Claire

POV: you round the corner and the warm glow pulls you in — the way fire does when you’ve been out in the cold.

Someone stopped me when I was getting out of my truck today to say they love the name Hearth & Hammer (my logo is on the back window.) Because it sounds exactly like what it is: grounded, solid, and built for real work.
No foo-foo spa menus. No woo-woo energy work.
Now, full disclosure: I personally love a little magic on my own time. I hoard crystals, feathers, and trinkets, talk to houseplants (and the house spiders), and watch the moon phases while leaning into the seasons. 🔮✨
But inside this clinic room, I leave that at the door and focus entirely on anatomy, targeted soft-tissue therapy, and functional outcomes. Just honest, outcome-driven bodywork. (But if you want to talk about ANY of the above topics, or tell my about your alien encounters and cosmic musings, please know that I am absolutely here for it!)

A breakdown of the modalities I use most often in my practice.
Every session blends techniques based on your goals — whether that’s reducing tension, improving mobility, supporting lymph flow, or helping your body feel more capable in daily life.
All of these are included when you book a session. No upsells, no hidden add‑on pricing.
Your body tells the story. I just follow it.

June is here!
Just popping in with a 20% off offer for your next session, a few studio progress photos, and some no‑cost ways you can support the space.
Studio Progress
If you haven’t been in yet, here’s a little update. The space isn’t in its final form, but I wanted to share some of the progress so far. More plants, artwork, and window coverings are on the way. My hope is that it feels like an exhale — a cozy, comfortable place you actually want to spend time in.
Ways you can support that don't cost $
I’ve created a brand‑new Yelp page.
If you’re someone who enjoys leaving reviews, this one’s for you.

I appreciate you more than you know.
Thank you for supporting the studio, sharing it with others, and trusting me with your care.
