Of all the places I've cut hair throughout my career, who would have imagined a truck stop parking lot along I-95 would become one of my most unforgettable memories?

Sometimes the craziest moments make the best stories! And what makes this one even more special is having a longtime guest and friend share her own memory as a comment of that day recently on my memoir story, Chapter 4 Page 17. A little keepsake of a moment neither of us has ever forgotten.

When One Door Closes

Let's now turn another page as we enter Chapter 5 of *The Woman Behind the Mirror*.

A new chapter, a different direction, and a journey that would bring changes I could never have anticipated.

Sometimes life takes us down a road we never imagined traveling. Looking back, we begin to understand how the decisions we made helped shape the path ahead.

I invite you to continue following along as the next chapter of my journey unfolds.

And although Florida is now seen in my rearview mirror, it doesn't mean I wouldn't return to revisit. It simply meant that Florida would no longer be my permanent home.

Trust • Value • Belief

There are moments when something comes into our lives at exactly the right time. And this was one of those moments for me, because these just arrived.

As -The Woman Behind the Mirror-- begins moving into a new journey, this week's reflection felt almost meant to be.

"Stop and Smell the Roses."

Leaving one chapter and beginning another can have us so focused on where we're going next that we forget about the journey along the way. These roses became a beautiful symbol of that for me—a reminder that sometimes we need to stop, take the time, and smell the roses along the way.

As I share this in my memoir as a keepsake, these roses are very personal to me. They didn't come from my garden. They came from my son as a way of telling me he was thinking of me, which makes preserving them within these pages even more meaningful.

And just looking at the photo, you can almost smell the roses through the visual.

Leaving Pembroke Lakes Mall is more than leaving a place where I worked for many years. It was a place where I built longevity in my career, and it was my business home.

It was where I grew professionally, where I built relationships and friendships, and where so much of my career took shape. But it was also where I grew a family. I got married, I had children, and my life was growing alongside my career.

I was already an established hairdresser when I entered the corporate world, but working in that environment elevated me into becoming a master hairdresser. It challenged me professionally, expanded my experience, and helped mold me into not only a better hairdresser, but a better all-around professional and person.

My peers, my clients, the experiences, and the years I spent there became part of me.

This page is also a dedication. The names I mentioned are only a few of the many people who were part of those years. To any of my peers I worked alongside, or any client who remembers me, whether I mentioned your name or not, I will always cherish the time that we shared and the part you played in my life and career.

I may have left Pembroke Lakes Mall, but I did not leave behind what it gave me.

I carried it with me then, and I will carry it with me always.
