Another great find and more history learned on the Savannah Scavenger Hunt! St. James AME Church on E. Broad used be the Melody Theatre and was a jazz music venue. Guess what! They are hosting a jazz music event outside on Sat 9/28 😁🙌🏼🎶🎷🎺 Additional cool history: this church dates to the end of the Civil War (1865) and their church bell was a gift from the Church of England at that time 🤯 .. I had the pleasure of meeting Pastor Scott and Sister Scott when I stopped here to take my pictures. I also realized when I pulled up here we have parked at this church many times for Savannah St. Patrick's Day parades. So neat to learn more about the history of this place and I look forward to coming back to Jazz in the Grazz on Sept 28! City of Savannah Government Visit Savannah

My classes at the JEA are cancelled today & tomorrow due to the Jewish holiday, Shauvot. Doing this Prayer Walk at Wesley Gardens has been on my list for a long while. In place of teaching at 11am, I walked and prayed and listened and sat still and meditated and walked away joyful and refreshed.
