A gentle scalp and hair care system rooted in ancient recipes and modern insights for vibrant hair. NINA

Hello! My name is Nina. They were cool.

My mother’s name is Najat, but we affectionally call her Najeau, a lifelong nickname given to her by my grandmother, and the namesake of our brand. This line is my love letter to her. I remember living in Lebanon and seeing my mom sitting outside with her hair wrapped in Saran wrap. Her eyes were closed, her breath was calm, and her face was tilted up to the sun. I asked her what she had on her he

NAJEAU IN ISTANBUL

We’re taking you behind the scenes sourcing, talking with the artists and people behind the brands, meeting the artisans and locals who inspire us. For us, it’s always about staying curious: creating, connecting, meeting the renegades, the artisans, the doers the people who make it all possible.

This was our first time in Istanbul, and our cousin Samar’s first time ever leaving her country. From Turkish alleyways to coffee shops to meeting incredible artists, we took it all in though two days was nowhere near enough. We’re hoping to continue sourcing as much as we can from those who inspire us to stay curious, and those who welcome us into their homes as if we’re family too.

Prep and finish. From Step 1 to the finishing touches we have you covered 💛

Step one isn’t shampoo. It’s oil.

Before water ever touches your scalp, oil is already doing the work shampoo can’t. Sebum, buildup, and impurities live deep in the follicle and like dissolves like. Oil breaks down oil in a way surfactants alone often can’t reach.
Pre-cleansing with oil loosens what’s clogging the follicle before you wash, so your shampoo isn’t fighting an uphill battle. Cleaner scalp. Healthier follicle environment.
Better foundation for everything to thrive

Your hair mask isn’t extra. It’s prep. 🫒

Hydration is water. Moisture is oil — the lipid layer that seals it in. Both have to exist together, or neither one works.

Olive oil penetrates the shaft — sealing gaps in the cuticle before shampoo can reach them.
Argan oil does the same job, tested as a pre-treatment before hair takes on stress.

No lipid layer = cuticle wide open = water floods in and floods right back out = nothing to hold onto.
Prep first = the holes are plugged = water has somewhere to stay = your strand bends instead of breaks.

That’s what elastic, healthy hair actually is — water and oil, working together. Not one or the other.

Prep first. Wash second. Strength stays Hair Bends.

Your Scalp is skin too

Your scalp deserves a deep clean

Exfoliate without the harsh scrubs and clarifying shampoos

Oil attracts oil, bacteria buildup and sebum better than anything because it’s lipophiluc

The best part is when you do Step 1 (before you double shampoo) is your scalp stays juicy and hydrated

The Art of the Scalp: A Conversation with Sayaka

Sitting down with Sayaka was one of those rare conversations that quietly reframes how you think about something you thought you understood.

A Japanese head spa specialist, colorist, and founder of her own hair care line, Sayaka has spent years developing and teaching her own scalp massage method. Rooted in LOVE

In Japanese tradition, the scalp isn’t separate from the body. It’s the beginning of everything where meridians, pressure points, and nerves converge.
The technique is everything and the massage is
MEDICINE.
The scalp is one of the most vascular regions of the body a trained massage activates that system.
It sends oxygenated, nutrient-rich blood back up to the stem cell niche of the hair follicle. It breaks up old fascia and scar tissue that have been quietly choking circulation for years.

It lifts, releases, and reawakens tissue most of us didn’t even realize had gone dormant.

The hands have to know what they’re doing. With knowledge, a massage becomes medicine.
Thank you Sayaka for being our teacher Sayaka Nitta
