Alisa Pose Hair Extensions
Alisa Pose - San Diego's Leading Hair Extension Expert for over 20 years.
The same hair can stay with you for close to a year.
Every four weeks you come in and I move it up. I open the bead, push everything back to where it should sit, and you go live your life for another four. When it's time, that hair comes out and goes right back in.
Cared for properly, with the right products, one set runs six months to a year. That's the part people miss when they compare prices. You're paying for hair you keep.

I got my first set of extensions because my own hair would never grow past a certain length.
It was fine and fragile and it broke constantly. Then I sat in the chair myself and walked out with hair I couldn't have grown on my own, and I've never forgotten how that felt. That was years ago and I've been doing hair for almost 30 years now.
That feeling is why Let Your Hair Down exists. I wanted a salon where a woman could say the honest thing about her hair and not get sold to.

Everyone asks me how they're supposed to sleep in these.
Braid it, one loose braid pulled over your shoulder, or wear a bonnet. A silk pillowcase does more than people expect, because it stops the friction that roughs hair up overnight.
If you wash at night, get it as dry as you can before bed, especially at the wefts. Water sitting there is what breaks them down.
The gym is easy. Tie it back and let dry shampoo do the work. I keep a paste that lifts the root while it cleans, and a few sprays for people who prefer those.

This mama to be wanted a new look for her baby shower.
We added only one box of Easi Hair Pro tape in extensions to fill in the ends of her hair, then did a beautiful color change. Wow, what a difference!
Her hair is so much shinier and healthier and fuller looking, and all of that came from one box.
Sometimes less is more. You don't always need a ton of hair to create a fresh look.

Placing bonds one at a time for five hours straight is the reason I can match anyone's color now.
Great Lengths certified me 22 years ago. They're a keratin fusion company, and learning that method first taught me what no faster method would have, from growth patterns, to how hair actually falls from the scalp, to how to distribute weight so the natural hair carries the extension instead of fighting it.
Plenty of my clients tried tape-ins and sew-ins when those arrived, and a lot of them came back to keratin. I have women who have worn them for over 20 years without a break, and their own hair underneath is still intact.

You don't have to know what you want before you sit down with me.
Most people come in with a screenshot and a worry, and that's plenty to start. The consultation is free, and it's a conversation rather than a sales pitch.
We look at three things. How much density you actually have, how you live day to day, and how long you're willing to sit in my chair. Those three answers pick the method for you.
We talk about your budget out loud too, so nothing lands as a surprise later.
Then we book a date that works for your schedule to come in and have the extensions installed.

Quality extensions run from $1,200 up to about $5,000, and the range isn't arbitrary.
What moves the number is length, the brand of hair, and the quality of the hair itself. Cheap hair looks fine for a few weeks, then it tangles, dulls, and has to be replaced. Over a year it costs you more.
I can't quote you from a photo. We start with a consultation, talk about your budget out loud, and build toward the result you actually want.

My little sister never agreed to be my first client.
I was doing her hair, her makeup, dressing her up, using her as my guinea pig long before anyone was paying me for it. I got my license fresh out of high school and 28 years later I am doing the same thing, just with better lighting.
The extensions started with my own head. My hair was fine and fragile and broke before it ever got long. Twenty years after that first set, natural looking extensions are the thing I am known for.
Opening my own salon was the scariest thing I have ever done. It meant there was no one else to fall back on, and it is still the best decision of my career. The stylists in here are family and most of my clients are friends now.

She came in wanting density, so I reached for a Bellami volume weft.
The method is a beaded row. I build a foundation of small beads across the back, then sew the weft onto that row. A volume weft carries more hair per row than most, which is how she gets fullness and wave without me placing bonds one at a time for five hours.
Bellami makes their hair in enough textures and lengths that almost anyone can wear it. The skill is knowing which of their wefts, or a k-tip, or a hybrid of both, fits the head in front of you.

Maya's first set of extensions, four bundles of natural blonde keratin for length and fullness, blended so it looks like it grew that way. Her words, not mine: "I'm obsessed."
This is your reminder that it's okay to feel a little obsessed with yourself. Ready to have your own moment? The link in bio has my quick survey to get you started.
