If your neck and upper back STILL hurt after stretching, foam rolling, massage guns, and spending hours lying on a lacrosse ball⦠there may be a reason. š
That nagging spot at the base of your neck or along the inside/top of your shoulder blade isnāt always a muscle that simply needs to be stretched harder.
If you spend hours sitting with your head forward and shoulders rounded, your body adapts to that position. Your thoracic spine moves less, your rib cage and breathing mechanics change, fascia adapts to repeated loading, and muscles around the neck and upper back may start working overtime to stabilize you.
Add stress, shallow breathing, repetitive training, old injuries, and constant phone/computer useāand you can end up repeatedly attacking the painful spot without addressing why it keeps getting irritated.
Thatās why the lacrosse ball can feel amazing for 20 minutes⦠and somehow youāre right back on it tomorrow. š
Treatment may involve acupuncture, dry needling, cupping/myofascial decompression, manual therapy, and movementānot just chasing the spot that hurts, but looking at the patterns contributing to it.
If you feel like youāre constantly trying to āreleaseā the same knot, it may be time to approach it differently.

THIS is the kind of progress that makes me so happy. šš¼š¤
When Jason first came in, shoulder paināespecially with bench pressingāwas limiting his workouts. He was also experiencing numbness and tingling into his fingers, difficulty with overhead movements, and ongoing low back issues after a previous back surgery.
Now heās back in the gym feeling amazing, lifting more comfortably, moving better, and enjoying his workouts again. šŖš¼
He also came in skeptical of acupuncture, which makes seeing how much better he feels even more rewarding.
I love helping people get out of pain, regain confidence in their movement, and get back to doing the things they actually WANT to do.
So happy for his progress and grateful he trusted me with his care! š¤

š¤ Why I do what I do.
Iāve spent more than 18 years working in health, fitness, and movement, and one thing has always mattered to me: helping people stay active and continue doing the things they love.
My own experiences navigating health challenges have also shaped the way I care for my patients. I know how frustrating it can be when you donāt feel like yourself or when pain and symptoms start interfering with everyday life.
Thatās why I take the time to listen, understand whatās going on, and create individualized treatment using acupuncture, bodywork, movement, and other techniques when appropriate.
My goal is simple: help you move better, feel better, and get back to living your life. šŖ”

Acupuncture + electrical stimulation ā”ļø
For patients dealing with stubborn neck, shoulder, and upper back pain, electroacupuncture can be a powerful addition to treatment.
By applying gentle electrical stimulation to acupuncture needles, we can target specific muscles and motor points to help:
⢠Reduce muscle tension and pain
⢠Improve circulation
⢠Calm irritated tissues
⢠Improve muscle activation and function
⢠Support recovery and mobility
Every treatment is individualized based on your symptoms, movement, and what we find during your assessment.
