Guzel Hair

While I typically only take new clients for blonding and select color services, I felt called to help this client in need.

This was a 12-hour dematting service, and there were definitely moments it felt impossible. The matting was extremely dense and heavy, caused by riding a motorcycle with her hair in two buns instead of her usual braid under her helmet. My client came in expecting to lose most of her length, but we were able to save the majority of her hair with minimal breakage and just a 2-inch trim. It was slow, meticulous work, but once I started seeing progress, I stayed fully locked in. Most stylists would split this into two days, but I chose to complete it in one long session. After 12 hours, her scalp was understandably tender and we were both tired, so we skipped the blowout. She left with clean, towel-dried, braided hair and significantly more hair preserved than expected.

I’m incredibly thankful that my client trusted me with her hair during such a vulnerable time, and so happy to be able to save her hair and keep her length!
