Being plagued with problem skin throughout my life was debilitating. It lit a fire inside of me to rid myself and others of an affliction that chips away at self-esteem and self-love. The fire turned into an obsession which blossomed into my career as an Esthetician. In 2008, my health started failing. I was diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases and my body was turning on me. Despite years of testing and different medications, my body and skin were still struggling. Even though I was a skincare professional and I had access to the “best” skincare products on the market, I couldn’t reach my skin goals. I found myself reaching for products that just weren’t there. This was a turning point in my life. I, like so many others, was not only in pursuit of health and beauty but of overall wellness. My goal from the beginning was to go beyond simply marketing skincare. It was about creating products and services that give everyone the chance to achieve the beautiful healthy skin they deserve. It is about finding your UltraViolet and it is here, in this space, that we have the chance to make our skincare routine part of our wellness ritual.
My wish is that you enjoy every moment of discovering, unwrapping and applying your UltraViolet Skincare. Please use this precious time to allow yourself to connect with and find your inner balance. Within this connection lies the magic. I am going to spend my life pursuing this magical place, visiting daily and staying longer each time, until it becomes my home. A little more of the story behind UltraViolet.
I recently had the opportunity to share my story with SD Voyager, from how UltraViolet began 26 years ago to what it has grown into today.
It started as a career I loved. It became a business, then a brand, and somewhere along the way, it became something much more personal.
I’m incredibly proud of what UltraViolet has become and even more grateful for every person who has been part of its story.

UVA UVB rays don’t’ care that you’re “not really outside.” 😬☀️
Windows, quick errands, driving, it all adds up. Daily SPF means daily.
Yeah, I said it. You have time.
Skincare doesn’t need to take 20 minutes.
Weave it into your life until it becomes as automatic as brushing your teeth.
Two minutes counts.
The more you exfoliate, the rougher your skin looks? This may be why.
Dullness, rough texture and uneven-looking skin can make you reach for another acid, scrub or exfoliating treatment.
But if you’re already exfoliating regularly and your skin is becoming tight, flaky, red, sensitive or increasingly textured, more exfoliation may actually be feeding the problem.
You can’t exfoliate your way out of an irritated skin barrier.
Pause the exfoliants. Cleanse gently. Focus on hydration + barrier support. Once your skin is calm and comfortable again, slowly reintroduce exfoliation rather than jumping straight back into everything.
Sometimes the answer to rough, textured skin isn’t more exfoliation. It’s recovery.
Save this for the next time you’re tempted to add just one more acid.

Your vitamin C serum might be losing potency before you finish the bottle.
Vitamin C can be notoriously unstable. Exposure to light, heat and air can cause certain forms to oxidize, which can mean skin irritation, less antioxidant protection and fewer of the brightening benefits you bought it for in the first place.
If a serum begins turning noticeably yellow, orange or brown, pay attention. Your vitamin C is oxidizing.
This is exactly why formulation, stability and packaging matter.

If your makeup suddenly doesn’t sit on your skin the way it used to, you’re not imagining it.
After 50 the canvas changes. Skin laxity, pore size, texture, hydration, volume loss and new hollows can all change the way foundation looks and where makeup actually serves us.
That doesn’t mean you can’t wear foundation. But often the old full-coverage, all-over application starts emphasizing the very things we’re trying to soften.
It’s best to let real skin show.
