I’d like to introduce myself and share with you what’s new in my world.

I have recently moved back to the city I love — beautiful San Clemente, a place that has always felt like home since the first time I arrived here in 2003. For the past 12 years I lived in San Diego, the city where I was born, feeling a deep calling to return to my roots and reconnect with where my soul first came to life.

Over these years, my path as a massage therapist has deepened as I have deepened within myself. As I’ve become more embodied, my work has expanded beyond technique into something more intuitive and integrative — blending bodywork, energy awareness, and somatic release.

The classes I’ve taken, the workshops and retreats I’ve traveled to in beautiful places, have woven together my understanding of anatomy and movement with breath, sound, and presence — not only in my own healing, but in the way I hold space for my clients.

I have become especially passionate about supporting the body in releasing trauma. So much of what we carry lives quietly in our muscles and nervous system. Without conscious awareness, we tighten, we brace, and we move through life in fight or flight depending on the environments we’re in.

Through nature, through connection to the land and to those who came before us, I’ve come to understand the deep wisdom of the body and what it needs in order to feel safe, nurtured, and restored.

My own journey with chronic illness has been one of my greatest teachers. It has shown me how to listen to the body and how to work with the root of pain rather than just the surface.

It brings me so much joy to now share these practices — to help others reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and move toward healing of the mind, body, and soul.

As I step into preparing to offer Somatic bodywork in order to release trauma from the body, I’d like to share material that I’m learning in order to have a deep understanding of how the brain works and how it effects our nervous systems. I’m so passionate about this work because of course I’m excited to help others heal their trauma and the pain that is held in their body but a huge factor is because if you know me, you know I’ve been healing a condition in my body called interstitial cystitis. Soon I will be talking more about that on here. But for right now I’ll be posting about all the ways trauma effects our mind, body connection through the brain, nervous systems and out behavior.

Trauma can induce structural and functional changes to neurochemical systems and certain brain regions that effect our emotional processing and decision making. Have you noticed in yourself or others that you or they might have difficult time communicating accurately or have a tendency to not be able to carry out and finish daily tasks and routines? Experiencing traumatic events can lead to PTSD and make even a simple task feel daunting. So often the person is accused of being lazy but with a compassionate heart I’m dedicating my study to learn and understand how I can help reverse the changes of the brain that were inflicted by a traumatic experience. Because the good news is that the changes are irreversible and there are therapeutic approaches to help re-wire the brain and I’m here to share how resilient humans can be and CAN heal PTSD and other trials systems.
