People used to tell me that they thought God set me apart for a life of ministry.
It was meant as a compliment, but I HATED that they said it.
Me… single forever… set apart for a life of ministry. Alone. Gosh that was hard to grapple with.
I loved the Lord, but I also loved the idea of marriage, children, family and those relationships. A life of singleness just sounded lonely and sad.
The years ticked on and I was now approaching my thirties. Maybe I WAS set apart for a life of ministry…
I remember having MANY conversations (prayer times) with the Lord and in His Word. Just asking Him to give me joy in the season I was in. To give me delight and life and energy. To fill me and satisfy me.
He answered.
I came to the point where I was 100% okay with being single forever. I still desired marriage, but I was thriving in my singleness.
My time was spent pouring into Girl Defined and other local ministries. I had so much joy. A life of singleness no longer felt like a burden… but an opportunity.
This might sound impossible or cheesy… but it’s true.
My ultimate purpose as a woman isn’t to get married.
My ultimate purpose as a woman is to know God and point others to Him.
That’s where ultimate satisfaction is found.

1. Your honeymoon is not a performance or a test you pass or fail. You don’t magically become a s*x expert because you said “I do.” Expect awkward moments, laughter, pauses, and learning curves. That’s normal and actually healthy.
2. The best s*x on your honeymoon will often come after honest conversations. Say what you’re nervous about. Say what you’re excited about. Say what you don’t know yet.
3. If you rush intimacy, your body will feel it and not in a good way. Desire builds connection, not pressure.
4. Your body needs time to catch up to your heart. Just because you’re emotionally ready doesn’t mean your body instantly is. Patience and communication are key.
5. S*x is something you learn together, not something you “figure out” on night one. Your honeymoon is the beginning, not the peak. The pressure to make it “perfect” kills enjoyment faster than anything else.
