Every birth story is unique. Some are fast, some are long. Some go exactly as planned, while others take unexpected turns. But through it all, there is beauty in the process and immense strength in the person bringing new life into the world.
As a birth worker, I am constantly reminded of the resilience, courage, and determination that laboring mothers carry within them. Watching families meet their baby for the very first time is a privilege that never loses its magic. I’m always so thankful to be a part of my client’s journey through it all.
I am so proud of my sister! Her resilience is beyond amazing and am so grateful to capture her birth and welcome my handsome nephew! Those dimples are to die for 😍😍

From the moment I walked into the room, I could feel it — that quiet strength mothers carry long before their babies take their first breath. She was already in her rhythm, breathing through each surge with a softness that only comes from surrendering to the process. In those early moments, I watched her become the safe place her baby needed, long before she held them in her arms.
Dad stood close, steady and present. His hand never left hers. Sometimes he whispered encouragement, sometimes he was simply there — grounding her, holding space in the way only a partner can. There is a beauty in the way a father loves during birth… quiet, protective, emotional. And I get to capture that. The way he brushes hair from her face. The way his eyes soften when he realizes, “We’re really going to meet our baby today.”
The room shifted as labor deepened. The soft glow of the monitor, the gentle sway of her hips, the steady rise and fall of her breath — these become the details that fade with time, yet mean everything in the moment. Her strength became fuller. His presence became stronger. And through my lens, those ordinary seconds turned into the most extraordinary memories.
When baby arrived, the world paused. Mom’s face melted into love and relief all at once. Dad’s eyes filled before he could hide it. Their hands met over the tiny life they created, and in that single frame, everything came together — the waiting, the work, the love.
These are the moments that slip away in the rush of new parenthood. This is why having a birth photographer matters. Not just for the big moment when baby enters the world, but for everything leading up to it:
• The strength mom didn’t know she had
• The quiet ways dad supported her
• The tenderness in the room as they labored together
• The first touch, first cry, first connection
• The details parents forget but always wish they could relive

Today, I had the great honor of witnessing something truly incredible: the birth of a beautiful baby via Cesarean section. This client—this mother—showed me what courage really looks like.
Planned or unplanned, a C-section is still birth. It’s still raw. It’s still brave. It’s still beautiful.
She walked into that operating room with quiet strength and unwavering trust—trust in her body, her birth team, and in the process, even when it didn’t unfold the way she first imagined. There’s something sacred about that kind of surrender, that kind of fierce maternal love.
I watched her bring her baby into the world with grace, every moment filled with love and intention. She asked questions. She advocated for herself. She stayed present, even through the nerves and the unknown. And when her baby was lifted into the air, it wasn’t just the beginning of a new life—it was the powerful culmination of her journey as a mother.
To my amazing client: you did it. You brought life into this world in the most courageous, awe-inspiring way. I hope you never doubt your strength. Your story is one of resilience, and it deserves to be honored over and over again.

I am incredibly honored and am grateful to be invited back to photograph the birth of one of my very first client - this time with their second child.
These are the images that captures the strength of welcoming a new life. One moment, you're breathing through the soft rhythm of contractions, the next you're riding waves that feel like they'll never end. And then, silence, stillness, the sound of a new heartbeat outside your body.

After much reflection, I’ve decided to take a brief hiatus from offering birth doula services effective on July 1st, 2025 to focus on self-care. I am incredibly grateful for the families I’ve had the privilege of supporting and will always cherish the powerful and beautiful journeys I’ve witnessed.
