As a professional brow artist of over 5 years, I can say.. it happens! Some hairs are more porous than others and reallllly suck up the color. I’ve used baby blonde and had it develop damn near black on clients before!

The best thing you can do is admit the mistake, assure your client the color WILL fade, and if needed and on hand, use a tint remover! I just ordered one I’m very excited to try out!

And mostly, don’t beat yourself up too hard! It seriously happens to every single brow artist!

Ya’ll know damn well the 24 hour post wax rules, but let me remind you again!

24 hours after your wax!

NO saunas, hot tubs, swimming pools, baths. You can shower! But you don’t want to be submerged in water.

NO excessive sweating. Yes, that means no hot Pilates, or intense workouts!

NO S*X!! I promise you.. it’s still gonna be bald tomorrow.

NO tight clothing. We wanna avoid friction and also allow the skin to breathe! This is the time to pull out those granny panties! (Loose cotton)

Keep in mind, we just opened all your pores! And they’re going to stay open for 24-48 hours post wax! So we’re avoiding any bacteria, bodily fluids or sweat in the area!
Or else… welp. FOLLICULITIS. Look it up. 🫣

As a hybrid waxer, I’m always on the hunt for a good soft wax! The key points I look for, thin, even application, not stringy, and a soft wax that really grabs all the hairs!

I actually loved the texture it created by mixing a cream and gel wax! It was suchhhh a smooth consistency, and spread like BUTTAH! And most of all, GOT THE DAMN HAIRS IN ONE GO!!

“How bad does it hurt?”

You’re going to get a different answer from every person you ask! Pain is different for all of us! But 95% of my clientele are shocked by how manageable the pain really is! It feels like a STING right when it’s removed, and then the pain almost instantly disappears.

“How long does the hair need to be?”

3 weeks is a good rule of thumb for the whole body!
If the hair is too short, the wax can’t grab onto it, and you may be left with a lot of “shorties” I PERSONALLY loveeee waxing a FULL, LONG BUSH. The results are always amazing! And I promise, if I can braid the bush, I’ll trim it FOR YOU. Please don’t try to be a coochie barber and fade your own bush.

“What are some waxing contraindications?”

ANTIBIOTICS! - because waxing pulls hair directly from the root and acts as a strong exfoliant, doing it while on medication can cause wax to pull off the top layer of skin, leading to severe burns, scabbing and scarring!

ACNE MEDS - most common acne med is accutane! It is STRICTLY prohibited because the medication significantly weakens and thins the skins barrier!!
In the video, I mentioned 1 year of needing to be off, some Waxers will do it in 6 months!

BLOOD THINNERS.
Waxing causes pin point bleeding! 🩸 if your blood is ultra thin, it’s going to prolong your pinpoint bleeding, cause excessive bruising, and skin lifting since pulling the hairs from the follicle damages small, underlying blood vessels!
