Big news from The Blackwater Cafe!

We bought the restaurant! The Gordon Family built something special here, and they have been gracious and generous with us through the entire handoff. That means a lot to both of us.

We're Rob and Trevor, the new owners. We've both spent a long time in this business, and we bought this place because of what's already here. The food. The staff. The space. The guests. The foundation is strong.

Quick update to keep you informed with more information in time...

This week is business as usual, 5pm to 9pm through Saturday. Come see us and say hi.

Then we'll be closed Sunday, September 6 through Friday, September 11 while we do a cosmetic refresh and get our new POS system in place.

We reopen Saturday, September 12. Hours from that day on:

Tuesday through Friday, 5 to 9
Saturday, 11 to 9
Sunday, 10 to 7
Closed Monday

The longer weekends are for football. We're getting the pub side set up with all the sports packages so you won't miss a game. Saturday the 12th is our first gameday, and Sunday the 13th is our first brunch of the season.

More hours also means we need more people. If you're interested, send Trevor a little about your background and experience at [email protected]. Mostly we're looking for folks who are positive, enthusiastic, and hold themselves to a high standard.

We’re getting closer to Rocky Mount Fest, and today’s vendor spotlight brings us to Zone 5 around the Farmers Market.

This section has a little bit of everything, with local makers, businesses, food, baked goods and longtime Farmers Market vendors all joining the festival. You’ll find Therascape Head Spa and Wellness, Ablaze Creations, Aunt B’s Craft Cabinet, FaeForge Studios, Copper Dog & Co, Countryman Jamaican Grill and plenty more.

And you’ll be right between two stages packed with live music.

At the Farmers Market Stage, catch Kam'ron Smith with Annalyse Marie Music & Bryson Quick, Phat Laces, SupaFly Five and Crawford & Power. At the Harvester Performance Center Stage, the lineup includes In The Meantime, Phat Anchovies, Solacoustix and Darkside Experience.

Shop local. Grab something to eat. Catch a band. Then walk a few steps and do it all again.

I had a little project to do this afternoon. I love the extra seating and coffee table outside now. ❤️ That coffee table is very sturdy! They are clearance in the patio section of Walmart. Great find !

Now that the weather is becoming more tolerable outside, waiting on the patio will be nice if you want a little extra vitamin D. 🌅

Apparently the halo waterfall was unbearably ticklish so we only used the hand sprayer😆

She was home on a sick day from school, so I did a eucalyptus steam treatment and a head spa 💆 and she took a 4 hour nap after. 💤
