For a long time, I thought that if my business grew, I had to keep growing within the industry too. I felt like I needed to build a bigger name, keep teaching, keep networking, and keep proving myself. I had to force my peers to see my value.

Then my husband said something I’ll never forget:

“It’s okay to be everything to your clients and nothing to the industry.”

That completely changed my perspective.

When I really stopped to think about it, I realized my clients have never been what drains me. I genuinely love the women I get to serve every day.

The pressure and burnout came from feeling like I had to earn approval in spaces that never really brought me peace or joy….. waiting for a seat at a table that I never wanted to be at to begin with.

Success doesn’t have to mean becoming a big name. Sometimes success is simply doing meaningful work, serving your clients well, being known by the wonderful women in your town’s community, going home to your family, and protecting your peace.

You don’t owe the industry anything.
