9 years! Can you believe The Wax Room has been in business for 9 years?! Sometimes it feels like yesterday that I went out on my own, and sometimes it feels like I’ve been doing this forever and can’t imagine doing anything else. 🥰 I am so incredibly grateful for your support & friendship over the years!! 💕

Reflecting on the past 9 years made me realize something: I’m thankful that I chose to stay small. ❤️ My purpose in creating The Wax Room was to provide a better, more comfortable waxing experience. Over the years I’ve had opportunities to expand through considering options such as hiring staff, adding new services, looking at multiple locations, and even franchising. After all, those steps are what several well-meaning business professionals have told me equates to success and growth. While that can be true, I do know that success and growth can also be measured in other ways than just that specific data. For what I created it was important to me to continue offering the one-on-one waxing care that clients value and come to expect at each appointment. I also needed to find that somewhat elusive balance between life & career, and I’ve never wanted my job to consume my life. It’s a big part of my life, but it’s not my whole life. It’s important to me to have that balance in order to take the best care of myself to then be able to be my best self for my clients. 💯

Success to me looks like building a business that holds true to my standards from Day One for prioritizing a comfortable waxing experience for each client, while not over-extending myself beyond my limits in the process. The Wax Room was created and intended to stay small. I admire and celebrate all small businesses that have expanded and grown in different ways - opening and operating a business takes a lot of work, perseverance and grit. It also takes a lot of focus and reflection to stay the course, and I’m so grateful that 9 years later The Wax Room is still holding true to its core purpose. ✨
