Restoring depth to heavily highlighted hair takes time! These photos show our starting point, the fade out after our initial appointment and our current results.

Restoring depth to bleached hair is difficult because the bleaching process destroys natural pigments and significantly damages the hair cuticle, making it highly porous. This creates a “sponge” effect that absorbs color quickly but releases it just as fast, causing color to fade rapidly.

We anticipate significantly less fade after each appointment as the color fills her cuticle and her natural color grows in, allowing for true depth. Because I only see this client this client a few times a year, we are going for a low maintenance fade out so she feels good about her hair until she sees me again!

With so much gratitude, I‘ve closed a meaningful chapter at Studio 402. I’ll always be thankful for the support and sense of community I found there — it truly helped shape who I am as a stylist.
