You are invited to start healing from your trauma at WHOA Behavioral Health through Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga group therapy.
Sometimes trauma makes you feel things that are uncomfortable and painful long after the experience. TCTSY is a safe way to begin to feel comfortable in your body and experience sensations again.
Everything in this practice is based on your own choices. You will never be forced to move in any way that does not feel safe or that feels unmanageable. This group therapy is more than just yoga it’s a reintroduction to your own body and spirit. You can make a deeper and more meaningful connection to yourself through emotional clarity. This often leads to a greater sense of wellbeing and healthier choices.
This is a therapy group facilitated by a licensed therapist with 20 years of experience and hours of training in trauma care. This is different than an ordinary yoga class. This class will help you identify and processes your trauma in a healthy environment with a licensed, professional therapist.
Despite all efforts to manage emotion, there might be some feelings that come up unexpectedly. Because of time constraints limiting availability to process these feelings, it is highly recommended that participants have an individual therapist and a support system.

Hey middle child, WE SEE YOU!!
While the oldest tends to get the most responsibility and the youngest seems to get all the attention, the children in the middle can feel overlooked. WHOA team wants to show some love to the kids in the middle of it all.
Mental health support is for everyone (even the oldest child who thinks they don't need it!), so use the link below if you are looking for a place to start. Understanding how we feel, think, react, and work though the issues around us makes stronger people!

The WHOA Crisis Residential House has 5-beds and is designed to provide short term care after being discharged from a hospital. Transitioning from hospitalization to lower levels of care can create stress and unresolved questions. At the Crisis Residential House, WHOA staff will feed, supervise, manage medication, and facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions for those using the house.
Our team of mental health professionals help coordinate the next steps to wellness. We help each patient coordinate lower levels of care to support happy and healthy lives. Our goal is to avoid re-hospitalization by providing a comfortable environment while providing 24/7 stabilization services.

How parents can reduce back-to-school stress:
-Check in with yourself first
Your child is growing up! Take the time to ask yourself how you feel about your child’s milestone. It’s normal to be anxious about a big transition, so practice healthy habits that will make you a better support for your student.
-Address the stress
Teaching your child how to process stress will allow them to be better equipped for transitions in the future. Rather than blindly telling your student that “everything will be fine,” let them know that their concerns are real and have real solutions.
-Go to the new school ahead of time
Take drives with your child to their new school before the bus comes on the first day. By becoming more comfortable with the commute, your student will be more comfortable on the first few mornings. If you can, walk up and down the halls of the new school identifying their classrooms, bathrooms, cafeterias, and the guidance counselor’s office.
-Talk to the teacher
A support system at school is more than just your child’s classmates. Sending an email or making a quick call to a teacher or guidance counselor can help solidify a support system of adults that your child can trust.
