Happy Hispanic Heritage Month from Prude & Boujee! ♥️

We are proud to be a Latinix-owned family business, and love celebrating other Latinix-owned businesses in MidTown! This month make sure to support , , , , , , and ! 🫶

🚨 PLEASE READ: We all say we want thriving communities.

We want cute little shops and restaurants we can stroll through. We want unique places to bring our friends when they visit. We want clean streets, safe neighborhoods, local events, and businesses that actually feel like they belong to our community.

But here’s the part you may not see: small businesses are doing a whole lot of the work to make that happen.

We donate to your schools, nonprofits, fundraisers, teams, and community events—often straight from our own bottom line. At Prude & Boujee alone, we average around 15 donation requests a month during slower months and as many as 40 during the holidays. And yes, occasionally someone asks us to donate to a bachelorette party, birthday party, or girls’ night with their sorority sisters. 😑 PS: we only donate to verified non-profits.

We clean the sidewalks outside our businesses, not the city. We pick up the pizza boxes, leftovers, and food people leave behind. And, unfortunately, sometimes we’re even the ones washing last night’s 🤮 off the sidewalk before opening our doors in the morning.

We absorb shipping costs, customs fees, and rising expenses whenever we can so we don’t have to pass every increase along to you.

We learn your names. We remember what you bought last time. We ask how your mom is doing. We celebrate when you get the new job, graduate, get engaged, or bring your baby in for the first time.

We hang your event flyers in our windows. We donate raffle baskets. We support local schools and nonprofits. We lend our platforms to domestic violence awareness, sun safety, women’s entrepreneurship, minority-owned businesses, and causes that make our community healthier and stronger.
We advocate for other small businesses. We spend hours in meetings with government officials and community organizations explaining what is working, what isn’t, and what our neighborhoods need to thrive.

And then sometimes, after doing all of that, someone walks through our door and steals from us.
So yes, when you steal from a small business, it hurts.
