The Honey & Mane Method

Your curls are not supposed to look exactly the same every day. šŸ¤Ž

And I think more curly women need to hear that.

Humidity changes.

Your wash day changes.

The way you slept changes.

Your products change.

And sometimes one section of your head apparently wakes up and chooses violence. šŸ˜‚

That doesn’t mean you’re doing your curls wrong.

One of the things I love teaching my curly clients is how to understand their hair instead of constantly trying to control it.

What does your hair need when it feels dry?

What happens when you use too much product?

Where does your hair naturally want volume?

Which curls need a little more encouragement?

And what can you simply leave alone?

Because the goal isn’t to recreate the exact same curl pattern every single morning.

The goal is to understand your hair well enough that you know how to work with it.

Your curls are allowed to have personality.

Trust me…

they usually do. šŸ˜‚šŸ¤Ž

The Extension Journal | Her Curls Came First šŸŖ„

I need to clear up a little curly extension misconception…

She did not walk into my salon with straight hair and I waved a magic wand šŸŖ„ and gave her curls with extensions.

Her natural hair is curly.

Before this K-tip installation ever happened, she came in wearing her natural curls for an in-depth extension consultation.

That’s where the real work begins.

I looked at how her curls naturally form, her curl pattern, density, texture, color, and how her hair moves.

Then I selected extensions to match HER curls.

Because with curly extensions, I’m not trying to make your natural hair behave like the extension hair.

The extensions need to belong in YOUR hair.

That curl match is one of the reasons this finished result looks so seamless. Her natural curls and the extensions work together instead of looking like two completely different heads of hair.

And yes, there’s styling involved in the finished result... but the foundation was already there.

These are her curls. We just gave them more hair to play with.

That’s why my curly extension process begins with an in-depth consultation. There’s no grabbing a bundle of ā€œcurly hairā€ and hoping for the best!

Curl pattern. Density. Color. Placement. Lifestyle.

It all matters.

Because the goal isn’t to give you someone else’s hair.

It’s to make your hair feel like more of itself. šŸ¤Ž

The Extension Journal šŸ¤Ž

ā€œI don’t want longer hair. I just want MORE hair.ā€

I hear this all the time in extension consultations.

And it’s one of the biggest misconceptions about extensions:

Extensions do not have to mean dramatically longer hair.

For my curly clients, sometimes we’re adding hair simply to create more of what she already has.

More density through the sides.

A fuller perimeter.

More balance in her shape.

More volume where her natural hair feels a little sparse.

Or enough fullness that she doesn’t have to work quite so hard trying to make her hair look thicker.

That’s why I look at extensions differently for every client.

Sometimes we add length.

Sometimes we add density.

Sometimes we do a little of both.

And sometimes the best extension work is the kind where nobody can quite figure out what changed…

They just know your hair looks REALLY freaking good!! šŸ¤Ž

Because extensions aren’t always about having different hair.

Sometimes they’re simply about having more of the hair you already love.

Sometimes my favorite part of the transformation isn’t the hair.

It’s that little moment afterward.

When she starts touching it.. Fluffing it.

Turning her head from side to side.

And then that smile happens. šŸ¤Ž

After all these years behind the chair, that still gets me.

Whether we’re working with her natural curls, creating a completely new shape, or adding curly extensions, I’m not chasing ā€œperfect hair.ā€

I want her to look in the mirror and recognize herself...
just a little more confidently.

That’s the transformation I’m always after.

What if your curly extensions aren’t really about length? šŸ‘€

Because for a lot of my clients… they’re not.

Sometimes what she really wants is:
More fullness through the sides.
A stronger perimeter.
More density where her hair feels thin.
Better balance in her overall shape.
Or simply for her hair to feel like more of itself.

That’s why I don’t look at curly extensions as ā€œadding hair.ā€

I’m looking at your curl pattern, density, shape and placement to create something that blends into what’s already yours.

The goal isn’t for someone to look at you and think: ā€œShe has extensions.ā€

The goal is: ā€œWhy does her hair look SO good?!ā€

More than length. More of YOU!!

A good curly transformation starts before I ever pick up my scissors šŸ¤Ž

Before I think about cutting, styling, or extensions, I’m looking at the whole picture.

Your density.
Where your hair carries weight.
How your curls naturally move.
What areas feel full... and what areas don’t.
What you struggle with at home.
And most importantly, what you want from your hair.

Because curly hair isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Two people can have a similar curl pattern and need completely different things.

Sometimes the answer is a better shape.
Sometimes it’s learning how to work with your natural texture.
Sometimes it’s adding density with curly extensions.

But it always starts with understanding your hair.

Your curls don’t need more rules.

They need understanding šŸ¤Ž

The goal was never to make her look like she was wearing extensions!

The goal was to give her more of what she already loved about her hair. šŸ¤Ž

More fullness.
More shape.
More movement.
More of that ā€œYES, this is how I want my curls to lookā€ feeling.

Curly extensions should feel like an enhancement... not a costume.

That’s why I’m so particular about curl matching, placement, density, and how the hair moves with the natural curls.

Because when everything comes together?

You don't notice the extensions first.
You notice HER.
And that is always the goal.

✨ If you've been wondering whether curly extensions could give you the fullness, length, or shape you've been wanting, the first step is a consultation.

What if you don’t actually need more length? šŸ‘€

One of the biggest surprises for clients considering curly extensions is realizing that extensions can completely change the shape and fullness of their curls without dramatically changing their length.

Sometimes the goal is:
More fullness through the sides
A fuller-looking perimeter
Better balance
More density where the hair feels lighter
More movement and shape

And sometimes?
Yes. We want the BIG, BEAUTIFUL, LONG CURLS. šŸ˜‚

But extensions don't automatically mean ā€œlonger.ā€

They can be about creating the version of your curls that you've been wishing your natural hair could achieve on its own.

That’s why I always start with the question:
ā€œWhat do you want your hair to do for you?ā€

Then we build the extension plan around that.

Because your extensions should work for your life, your curls, and your goals... not the other way around.

šŸ¤Ž More than length. Always.

09/08/2026

Curly extensions are not one-size-fits-all! ✨

And honestly? That’s one of my favorite things about them.
When I’m creating a curly extension plan, I’m not just looking at the curl pattern.

I’m looking at:
• Your natural density
• Your curl pattern
• Your current length
• Where you want fullness or length
• How your hair naturally falls
• Your lifestyle
• And how you actually want to wear your hair

Because two people can have a very similar curl pattern and need completely different extension plans.

The goal isn’t to put extensions on your hair.
The goal is to create a customized result that works with your hair.

That’s why the consultation is such an important part of the process. We’re figuring out what will make sense for you... not just choosing a method because it looks pretty on someone else.

Curly hair deserves a little more thought.
And I happen to love that part. šŸ¤Ž

One of the first things I tell my curly clients...

Your curls don't have to behave exactly the same!

You might have tighter curls underneath, looser curls around your face, waves mixed in with curls, or areas that simply refuse to cooperate!

And that doesn't mean you're doing something wrong.

Your curl pattern, density, growth patterns, previous color, haircut, and even how you sleep can all affect the way your curls show up.

This is why I don't believe in a one-routine-fits-all approach to curly hair.
Instead of asking, "What works for curly hair?"

I want to know...
What works for YOUR curly hair?
That's where the real curl education begins!

Your curls don't need to look like anyone else's.
You just need to understand what makes yours… yours!
