Best advice I’ve ever been given in business is to just be who you are, really. Live in your authenticity.

I handed out a card yesterday at the bar to a fellow industry professional. I’m always curious to see how it is received. The response was…
“I love what you did here.”
“This is so funny.”
“We’re on your Instagram right now.”

I think it’s normal when starting out in the industry, to feel like you need to be accepted by everyone, that acceptance feeds into future success. But whyyyy put that unnecessary pressure on yourself? Here to tell you that it’s ok to not be everyone’s cup of tea and you’ll still thrive.

Over a decade in the industry and what you see here it’s intentional. I’m not here for approval. If living in my full authentic self makes someone uncomfortable, it is what it is. From the white lipstick, to the alternative/ rock/ slightly grunge in studio atmosphere (a more out of the box aesthetic concept when I started out), to the profane pun on my business card- it’s all a filtering process designed to align me with the people I am meant to exchange energy with.

Forgetful to always carry them on me but I’m a fan of handing out your business cards. The perfect introductory opportunity to break the ice, feel a potential client out, generate a reaction and hopefully a little business. If someone finds humor and curiosity, girl come on over and if it offends them respectfully I’d redirect them to another industry professional that aligns better.

In here I want to exist freely, make a few friends, pour into those who find value in the person I am and what I have to offer… one appointment at a time. To me that is being rich in this life.

Struggle with blackheads?
