I’m going to say this plainly: I do not appreciate racism being directed at me because of somebody else’s ignorant ideology.

You don’t get to take a conversation about industry standards, attach your own racial assumptions to it, and then use those assumptions to justify disrespecting me.

I can call out unsafe practices without believing they belong to one race. I can advocate for higher standards without being racist toward the people I’m discussing.

And honestly, that’s the part I want people to sit with.

Where did your perception come from?

Because if “chop shop” automatically makes you picture one specific race, that’s worth examining.

Call out the behavior. Call out the sanitation. Call out the lack of education, safety, and care.

But don’t assign those behaviors to someone because of their skin color.

We all have biases worth examining. The goal should be to recognize them, challenge them, and do better. 🤍

A spa pedicure should be more than soaking, scrubbing, and throwing on some polish.

At Nails With A.Twist, even a “basic” pedicure is intentional. I’m cleaning those sidewalls, paying attention to the condition of your skin and nails, looking for areas that may need additional care, restoring hydration, and finishing with a massage to help those hardworking feet relax.

And yes—if I notice something that looks like it may need medical attention, we talk about it. Education and knowing when to refer out are just as important as the service itself.

Because your feet are your foundation, and they deserve more than rushed care. 🫶🏾

I needed a way to secure this plastic letter tray rack, and no gel or glue I tried was holding the way I wanted. I kept thinking, “I know exactly what will work.” So I grabbed my acrylic… and problem solved. 💅🏾

Funny enough, this is about the only thing I use acrylic for anymore. But when you understand your products and how they perform, you know when it’s time to reach for the right one—even if it isn’t for a set of nails.

Work smarter, not harder. 😌
