Shaina Meck is a California Native, born and raised. She has been thriving in the beauty industry for 10+ years now. She attended Make-Up Designory in Burbank, California straight out of high school to futher her education in beauty and special effects. After working as a Make-Up Artist 6 years, she then decided to attend the Cosmetology program at West Valley Occupational Center. Shaina is licensed in North Carolina as well as California making her a dual licensed hairstylist and make-up artist. She was first attracted to the creativity and flexibility of the industry. Now her passion is guiding others to see the beauty in themselves! Seeing the smile on her client's face when their new look is revealed, whether it's a make-up transformation, color, or a new style, fires Shaina's passion even more. With many classes and certifications under her belt, she is a firm believer that continuing education is the key to success. To this day, Shaina continues to further her education with Pulpriot, Redken, Schwarzkopf, and Neuma. She is certified in Babe tape in extensions, Donna Bella sew in extensions, Brazilian Blowout, and Keratin Complex treatments. She is also certified with the Business of Balayage as a balayage specialist. Before moving to Raleigh, her clientele consisted of unicorn hair, balayage, highlights, and long lengths to cute edgy cuts. She loves being well rounded in each area to offer a broad spectrum for her clients.

She has worked on numerous photo shoots, special events, as well as with many other talented make-up and special effects artists, such as: Gage Munster, Marcel Banks, Jo Holland (Face-Off Season 1), Greg Lightner (Face-Off Season 2), Kris Kobzina (Face-Off Season 4), Laney Parkhurst, also known as Laney Chantal (Face-Off Season 5), and Johnny Leftwich (Face-Off Season 10). While make-up will always be her first love, hair has taken over her love for the industry. Constantly craving new information and growth when she began doing hair in 2013, she absorbed everything she could possibly learn about hair. She loves not only the business side of the industry, but she also loves connecting with her clients. Customer Service sits at the top of her values when it comes to her work, priding herself in the art of her consultation and attention to detail. Listening to clients and open communication is crucial. Shaina is a true artist. She is able to customize really any look by adding in small details like face framing to get to the desired look a client is looking for. She values each and every client and always ensures that her clients feel comfortable in their own skin and leave feeling rejuvenated, happy, and the best version of themselves that they can possibly be. She truly has created a safe space for honest feedback for all clients in the salon.

Its no secret that she loves all things spooky and Disney. Shaina's vacations usually consist of a nice relaxing weekend in the mountains to enjoy the cool breeze with her husband. Listening to music, watching a movie, scrolling through Pinterest hair and make-up boards, or watching educational videos is what keeps her on her toes when it comes to inspiration. In her past life, she could have been a elementary school teacher with her love for children.

💀 October is officially sold out… and that’s a good kind of scary.

We’re still taking bookings for November & December, and you can jump on our waiting list in case any October spots open up. Pre-booking is the smartest move this season: it locks in your preferred time, gives your color the proper processing window, and keeps your hair looking intentional instead of last-minute.

🩸 FAKE BLOOD ONLY 🩸

This is 100% special effects makeup — no real blood or injury.

Mouth sewn shut. No safe word. Just pure Strangeland energy.

Created this SFX look for the Strangeland maze at Woods of Terror, inspired by Dee Snider’s classic. The goal was to make it look like her lips were actually stitched closed — and the details made all the difference.

Products used:
Pros-Aide (original + cream), 3rd Degree, European Body Art + Pro-Aiir airbrush, Skin Illustrator palettes, and Ben Nye thick blood to sell those fresh, messy stitches.

When the lights hit just right… the nightmares come alive. 👀

These clips from the The Scare Factor walkthrough of Fungus Among Us and the brand-new Strangeland attraction (inspired by Dee Snider’s cult classic) at Woods of Terror in Greensboro show exactly why special-effects makeup is pure art.

Every detail you see — the fungal textures, the twisted carnival vibes, the full-on horror transformations — was created for these mazes. Seeing the looks under real haunt lighting instead of studio lights is next-level. The shadows, the movement, the way the makeup reads in the dark… it all hits different.

Haunt season is here, and these attractions are already delivering the scares. Who’s heading to Woods of Terror this year? Drop a 👻 below if you’re planning a trip!

When the asylum maze calls for pure nightmare fuel… this is what walks out.

Spiral eyes, stitched scars, and a smile that says “dental records only.” All fake blood, all attitude.

is already in full swing and October is breathing down our necks. Who’s ready to get lost in the maze?

The monsters marched… and the makeup was next-level.

Caught the full Woods of Terror Monster Parade on September 18th — that iconic nightly kickoff where Bone Daddy leads the entire creature crew through the Monster Midway. It’s been a Woods tradition for years: live music, the punk-rock national anthem, roaming nightmares, and pure energy before the haunt even opens. Every single face you see in this video was painted by the talented makeup artists in the Woods of Terror family (yep, including some work from yours truly).

Whether you’re coming for the scares, the spectacle, or just to see how far special-effects makeup can go… the Woods are open and the monsters are waiting.

Drop a 🖤 if you’ve ever watched the parade live, or tag someone who needs a night of screams!

👻 Haunted by dry ends, faded color, or a style that’s lost its spirit?

Fall is the perfect time to give your hair a fresh start. Cooler weather, indoor heat, and seasonal color changes can leave strands looking dull and feeling brittle — exactly why a professional cut, color refresh, or deep conditioning treatment can make such a big difference right now.

At Little Shop of Hairdos (est. 2015) in Raleigh, we specialize in spooky-fun, alternative-inspired looks that still keep your hair healthy and strong. Whether you want a bold new shade, a shape-up that frames your face, or simply healthier, shinier hair heading into the holidays, we’ve got you covered.

Book your spooktacular makeover today and step out feeling confident instead of cursed by bad hair days.

The monsters have officially marched!

September 12, 2027 of the Woods of Terror Monster Parade was pure chaos in the best way — Bone Daddy leading the charge, the casket car rolling through, Shawn the snake making an appearance, and every creature from the Midway out in full force. This is the legendary tradition that kicks off every night of terror in Greensboro, and the special-effects makeup that brings these creatures to life is next-level.

Proud to be part of the Woods of Terror family and even prouder to show off the work of our talented makeup artists. Every scar, every scale, every haunting detail you see was applied with precision and a whole lot of love for the craft.

If you’re in the Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, or Triad area and love a good scare + incredible makeup artistry, this video is your invitation to experience it live. Tag a friend who needs a night of screams, drop a 💀 if you’re coming out, and tell me which monster is your favorite in the comments!

See you in the Woods…

POV: Your hairstylist when you say, “I’ll just book my next appointment later.” 👻💀☕️

Even Ghostface knows there are two things you shouldn’t wait until the last minute for: your Dutch Bros order and your hair appointment. 😂

At Little Shop of Hairdos, we recommend prebooking your next appointment before you leave the chair — especially if you’re maintaining a haircut, color, blonding, or vivid/fashion color.

Because “I’ll book later” can turn into “WHY IS MY STYLIST BOOKED?!” real quick. 👀

So grab your Dutch Bros, get your hair on the schedule, and let your future self enjoy one less thing to worry about. 🖤🎃
