Ya'll....I am GOING THROUGH IT! I am giving myself a mini retreat on this full moon. I wanted to share my schedule just in case you wanted to join in on your own....
π Full Moon Self-Care Day at home
10:30β11:00
Put your phone on Do Not Disturb, open the windows, light a candle or incense, put on a beautiful playlist, and make herbal tea or lemon water. Set an intention: βToday I don't have to accomplish anything. I am here to restore myself.β
11:00β11:30
Morning Meditation: A gentle guided meditation focused on grounding, presence, and releasing the need to βdo.β Finish by sitting quietly for a few minutes.
11:30β12:15
Japanese Towel Method & Shower: Do your towel routine, followed by a warm shower. Take your time with skincare, body oil/lotion, hair care, and putting on something ridiculously comfortable.
12:15β1:15
Beautiful Lunch: Make something nourishing but indulgent. Order your favorite comfort meal. Eat slowly...no phone.
1:15β2:15
Reading Hour: Get cozy somewhere sunny or by a window. Maybe go outside. Read something that nourishes you rather than something that demands anything from you.
2:15β2:45
Trauma Release Exercise: A separate intentional release practice. Try gentle shaking, pressing your feet into the floor, slow pushing motions with your hands, vocalizing/sighing, and then orienting your eyes around the room. End with your hands over your heart and belly and remind yourself: βI am here. I am safe in this moment. I don't have to carry everything today.β Keep this gentle...no forcing emotional catharsis.
2:45β3:30
Tea + Do Nothing: Literally nothing. Sit outside, stare out a window, listen to music, or lie on the floor. No productivity allowed!
3:30β5:00
Nap: Curtains partially closed, cool room, cozy blanket. Give yourself permission to sleep as long as you need within this window.
5:00β5:30
Slow Re-entry: Wake gently. Water, stretch, wash your face, maybe step outside for a few minutes. Don't immediately grab your phone.
5:30β6:30
Luxury Hour: Bath, foot soak, face mask, dry brushing, body scrub, or whatever makes you feel cared for. Add candles and music.
6:30β7:30
Full Moon Dinner: Make this the meal you really want. Beautiful plate, favorite drink, candlelight, and something delicious for dessert.
7:30β8:00
Full Moon Reflection Journal: What am I ready to release? What am I grateful for? What do I want to make more room for? What version of myself am I nurturing? Write without editing yourself.
8:00β9:30
Full Moon Ritual + Meditation: Sit somewhere comfortable with your candle/crystals if you use them. Meditate on release, renewal, and trusting your own inner knowing. You could place your journal beside you as a symbolic βI am putting this downβ moment.
9:30β10:15
Sound + Stillness: Listen to a beautiful 8D audio with headphones for the full effect. Let your body integrate the day rather than adding another activity.
10:15β10:30
Closing Ritual: Turn off the lights except for candle/moonlight. Take a few slow breaths and say: βI release what no longer belongs to me. I receive rest, clarity, softness, and renewal. I am allowed to begin again.β Then blow out your candle and officially close your retreat.
And one rule for the whole day:
You are not allowed to turn your self-care day into a self-improvement project.
No catching up on emails. No cleaning the entire house because you suddenly have energy. No researching your next five goals. No βwhile I'm at itβ¦β π
The purpose is restore β release β receive β rest.
One small note: if the trauma-release portion brings up intense memories or feels destabilizing, stop and return to simple grounding/orienting rather than pushing through it. The goal is gentle nervous-system settling, not emotional excavation.
I hope this inspires you. Even if you only do one or two items on the schedule. YOU DESERVE IT!!!! πππ
