Did you know there are color depositing shampoo?

Think purple shampoo, but different. Just like toners/glazes in the salon, some colors ADD pigment while others are used to NEUTRALIZE colors.
The beauty of these shampoos is it gives you control of how vibrant your color is in between your appointments. In other words, you can love your hair everyday. 💁‍♀️

Red tones are my favorite to use these shampoos on because their pigment (sparkle) seems to fade the fastest when you leave my chair. I’ve noticed night and day differences in clients that use an at home treatment versus those who wait for their next appointment for a refresh. I tend to recommend brand with the disclaimer to hat you will need a heavy conditioner to pair with their shampoos.

2022 is right around the corner, and so are some schedule changes.

I will be adjusting my schedule to no longer work evenings. My time is valuable and I want to ensure my family gets a piece of that time.

I know some clients depend on my night slots for appointments but I have a group of trusted cohorts all over the raleigh area that are happy to inherit some of my favorite guests. I imagine my clients out and about and people wondering “how did they get their hair like that? I wonder how often they get it done? (And most importantly) Who does their hair?”. 😬

As many of you know, I love learning the latest techniques in cutting and coloring but of all the things I’ve learned, honesty and good communication top the list.

A stylist/client relationship is just that, a relationship, and a good one cannot be built if there isn’t a foundation of trust, and that street goes both ways. It could be that the color didn’t pop like you wanted or I cut those bangs you’ve been trying to grow out, but whatever it is, we both have to be honest ;)

Like many hairstylists, I am a people pleaser. It brings me joy knowing our time together has hopefully lifted your spirits. I am so grateful for every guest that has shared their *honest* feelings leaving the salon.

I’ve had numerous clients come in and want to add MORE blonde and they act like they’re breaking a rule, like wanting to wear white after Labor Day. Well, in my chair, there are no rules on when to go lighter, darker, warmer, cooler.
•

Coloring your hair should be fun and it should make you feel confident. That’s the rule. Have fun and forget about what everyone else is doing.
