Common misunderstandings about being a business-owner hairstylist:

Just because I “set my own hours” doesn’t mean I work less.
Client hours aren’t the only hours—there’s prep, clean up, messages, education, and admin behind the scenes.

I’m not “just doing hair.”
I’m running a business, managing chemistry, emotions, schedules, inventory, and finances all at once.

Being booked doesn’t mean being rich.
Overhead, product, taxes, tools, and continued education add up quickly.

No, I usually can’t “just squeeze you in.”
Every appointment is planned with intention—for quality work and my own sustainability.

And when someone cancels last minute, it does matter.
This isn’t a corporate paycheck.

I love what I do—but it’s physical, mental, emotional, and demanding.
Still wouldn’t trade it for anything. 💛
