What a fantastic day for a run around this beautiful town.

Orca Running 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏻🫍 delivered yet another amazing event and we couldn’t have asked for better weather.

Always a pleasure to support the local running communtiy and to meet runners from all over the state.

Congrats to all of the finishers of the Poulsbo Half Marathon and 10K.

If you are a local runner be sure to catch RuneStrong at the Spooky 10K brought to you by Roots Rock Trail Running on Halloween morning.

Always willing to learn new stretching techniques from a friend. Apparently today’s lesson was “trust me, I saw this on the internet.” 😂

A little behind-the-scenes fun at the Poulsbo Half Marathon & 10K!

NASHVILLE — RUN BETTER FOR HYROX IS COMING YOUR WAY. 🏃‍♂️💨

I’m excited to bring Run Better for HYROX to CrossFit East Nashville this October.

Running makes up a huge portion of a HYROX race—but being fit enough to run and being an efficient runner aren’t necessarily the same thing.

This two-hour, hands-on workshop is designed to help HYROX and functional fitness athletes run better, waste less energy, and hold their pace when their legs are cooked.

We’ll work on:
• Running economy & efficiency
• Overstriding and common running mistakes
• Cadence & stride
• Pacing strategies
• Running mechanics under fatigue
• Practical drills you can immediately put into your training

📍 CrossFit East Nashville
📅 Saturday, October 24 OR Sunday, October 25
⏰ 11:30 AM–1:30 PM
🎟️ $99

These are two separate workshops—choose either Saturday or Sunday when you register. You do not need to attend both.

Each session is limited to 20 athletes so we can keep it hands-on and actually spend time running and coaching.

Run better. Waste less energy. Hold your pace when your legs are cooked.

Registration is open — scan the QR code on the flyer / hit the registration link in bio to grab your spot.

Welcome to the team, Josephine! 👋

We’re excited to officially welcome Josephine to RuneStrong as our new Clinical Massage Specialist!

Josephine grew up on Bainbridge Island and has spent most of her life around movement. She danced for 13 years—primarily ballet—and also participated in soccer, swimming, track & field, and Pilates.

Her background in dance, combined with a lifelong fascination with the human body and movement, eventually led her to pursue massage therapy at the Port Townsend School of Massage.

She’s especially interested in the clinical and sports side of massage and working with active people to help them move better, recover, and keep doing the things they love—which makes her a pretty natural fit at RuneStrong.

Outside the clinic, Josephine enjoys working out, yoga, dance, and hiking. Her favorite local hike is Mt. Ellinor, and her current personal goal is to get better at surfing. 🏄‍♀️

As RuneStrong grows, we want to build a team of people who genuinely value movement and understand how important it is to the people we work with. Josephine fits that vision extremely well, and we’re excited to have her here.

Please help us welcome Josephine to the RuneStrong team!

“I don’t have time to strength train.”

Runners and cyclists—I hear you.

You already spend hours each week running or riding. Adding something else can feel like a lot.

But strength training doesn’t have to become another sport.

A recent study following 147,000+ people for up to 30 years found substantial longevity benefits associated with roughly 90–120 minutes of resistance training per week, especially when combined with aerobic exercise. Even smaller amounts were associated with benefits.

That’s not 90 minutes every day.

It’s roughly two to three 30-45 minute sessions per week.

And other research on “minimal-dose” resistance training supports the broader idea that relatively small amounts of training can still improve strength—particularly compared with doing none at all.

You don’t have to choose between being an endurance athlete and being strong.

Keep running. Keep riding. Pick up something heavy a couple times a week.

Your future self will probably appreciate it.
