I’m sad because there’s still a lot of wild s**t that’s happening in my life and I’m in my feels.

I need a laugh so here are some wild unhinged answers from online dating that range from funny and silly to weird and very unhinged 😳

I know several people who’ve recently become single after years, if not decades, of being in very long term relationships and they always ask me my thoughts on modern dating, especially online.

Oh honey 😬 From eHarmony to Hinge, it’s a hot ass mess out here 🫣

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve met some great people off the dating apps but you have to wade through A LOT of bulls**t to find them.

If you’re new to online dating, especially for those who identify as straight or hetero, I thought it might be helpful to provide a short list of MAJOR red flags I look out for when I’m on the dating apps:

🚩 Conservative Men
For obvi reasons but if you don’t care, you do you which leads me to my next point. Swipe for an example. A VERY conservative white man said the way to win him over is making him dinner 😒🥱
Typical.

🚩 “Not Political”
This is code for having very conservative views but they know that it’s a red flag given today’s political climate so it’s safer for them to be vague. If it’s important to you, ask those important questions!

🚩 “Don’t take things too seriously”
This is cringe and I think guys don’t realize it because it’s giving that you think you got “jokes” yet you have no respect for boundaries or other people’s feelings. More people have unpacked this online but personally, I like to steer clear.

🚩 “Figuring out my relationship type” or posting both “short & long term relationship”
For obvi reasons, this is a guy who clearly doesn’t know what the f**k they want. And probably just wants to hook up. If you’re looking for your HUSBAND OR WIFE, you’re gonna be very clear and communicate that.

From scary conservative men to dudes not knowing what they want on a DATING app, looks like I haven’t missed anything in the online dating realm.

We’re back with what so many of my clients & friends have said is their favorite series where I share my dating experiences while I look for my husband.

Let’s talk about AI on the dating apps because these two things should NEVER mix when people are making their dating profiles.

It’s bad enough that so many men won’t even answer the most BASIC questions about themselves or why they’re even dating. But to now see how AI is being used on these platforms is very concerning.

I’m starting to see the rise of men using AI to alter their image on the apps from silly to literally looking like a completely different person and setting that image as their main profile picture. Swipe for examples because
what’s hilarious about the 3rd photo is it’s his VERIFIED dating profile but the first photo is AI 🤦🏾‍♀️

The apps allowing this is not only reckless but it’s also incredibly DANGEROUS, especially for women because this is allowing scammers and predators to roam more freely and now these apps are one of the perfect platforms to find victims.

It is that deep and it’s probably going to get worse before it gets better.

If these apps still want women on here, y’all must do better to make it safer for us.

The owners of the terrible apartment where I resided, their case against me has been dismissed AND the court date has been CANCELLED. I’m not completely out of the woods just yet but my case is officially closed 😱

How I found out was also kinda wild because I wasn’t notified by the courts, and certainly not by the property managers, which is wild! How do you not keep people in the loop about vital information like court dates & hearings?! Luckily, I was able to get a referral to a public defendant who was kind enough to look into my case. That’s how I got the news.

Thank you so much again to everyone for your love, support and many housing referrals!!!

I’m still looking for a place to live so please continue to send the things if you hear anything.

And there’s still so much other s**t I haven’t told y’all because so much is happening but needless to say, this week, honestly the last few months, has been an insane emotional rollercoaster. But I think I’m finally, and hopefully, near the end of it.

Which reminds me, it’s the end of Mercury Retrograde and oh my goodness, she went hard this time around so I hope she’s done and we can all move on 😥😅Apparently her shadow likes to linger into early August so ugh but who fu***ng knows.

My birthday was the other day and I wasn’t sure if I was going to make a post about it because I’m not at all where I thought I’d be at 36.

I’m not married.
I don’t have kids.
I don’t have my own place.
I still don’t have a lawyer & I’m going to court next week😳
I don’t have a job and yes, I just opened my first business Ebonee Beauty PDX which is absolutely incredible but omfg the way my solo journey has started…it’s been very bittersweet so far. IYKYK. I’ll save that story for another day 😱

Despite the many ongoing woos, these last few months, and this past year, has taught me a great deal about people. The good, the bad and hella ugly. I’ve always seen the best and worst in people from a young age because I’m a Black girl in America.

I can choose to let terrible s**t make me salty or I can learn, process, laugh it off if need be, and keep it moving.

I’m choosing the latter.

I choose to laugh, heal and grow because not only is that something I need but it’s something that the world also needs. The world needs more kindness and compassion.

Yeah, things are an absolute hot ass mess in my life right now but it’s not forever. I know things will improve for tbe better but oooo baby, the universe has been really TESTING ME. Like okay girl, I see you. Again IYKYK 🤭

Even though I wasn’t really in a celebratory mood, I was intentional about treating myself. I danced at a 2000s decade night, I did a solo date to the movies and spent a day at the salon getting my hair done which was LONG overdue. Special thanks Andrea (on-dre-uh) Sanders
