You want high impact blonding, but are tired of foils, swelling, slipping and bleeding!

When the foils are placed this close together on the head, it can create heat from the scalp that can swell lighter in your foils. This can cause slipping and bleeding.

My trick to fix this is I like to add 5 to 10 mils of a clay lighter to my traditional foil lighter. This helps my foils to stay where I place them.

Feeling Brassy and too Blonde? Try adding lowlights.

It’s not how many lowlights you add but that they are strategically placed.

I started this transformation with K18 Hair The color started with 3 highlights in the Faceframe then added lowlights in a V pattern through out the body of the hair.

I never like to add too many low lights or they can make the blonde look muddy.

✨Tone on Tone blonde on fine hair with Traditional Balayage!

Dimensional color will always make fine hair look thicker than single tone color. It looks thicker By adding contrast and depth.

My Formula:
Base Goldwell US Cover Plus 8n,8nn
Lowlight Colorance 7n
Balayage Silk Lift Clay 30 vol.

Pro Tip- I like to slip a little piece of cotton under my highlight when painting through a base to prevent colored transfer.

Grey blending, balayage education, hair color video, Portland balayage, Denise Mahoney

You’re doing grey coverage? Why not add your highlight and root smudge at the same time?

I used TopChic 7n for my Gray coverage.

I like to highlight through my base for a soft blend. I used Silk Lift Strong and 20 vol.

After processing I remove my foils, use my fingers to pull off the excess lighter. And then gently smudge the root color into the base of my foils.

I finished this look with a curling iron set using my 1 inch. Curling iron and my favorite Goldwell Working Hairspray.
