“A rhinestone shines just as good as a diamond.” A classic reminder that your value doesn’t depend on what others have or think… I’ve been facing those doubts about my life journey since I’ve open the salon. I’ve been doing hair for 15 years and being in the same place of working on my craft, I’ve attained a new role as a salon owner and let me tell you…it’s next level challenging! I’ve been learning so much from this and it’s a never ending process and of course, it brings in emotions that’s I’ve never experienced before: bursting into tears for no reason, anger, discomfort, and pain. But also, it brings positive perspectives about what ownership is like and what I need to do in order to make room for growth. I shouldn’t be comparing myself to others in order to keep growing; but to focus with what’s in front of me and learn from it. Dolly’s passing was a reminder that I will be fine, that I should be colorful instead of being gray and to keep going forward, even when I’m feeling down 🦋Your Curlfriend, Alley ✨
