If you are seeing these babies on yourself or other locs, its time to celebrate 🎉 Wings are a sign of maturity in locs and often taken negatively, but i am here to help fix that narrative! As your loc ages and continues to grow in its formation it starts to matte. As time goes on it will matte more and more until it is fully loc’d up. During that process, some hair is still making it through the loc and in different areas may hit a roadblock (the matte). As it tries to push its way through it still is growing and may start to back up its way out of the loc to accommodate its new length. Since this happens slowly over time we dont even notice them untill they start to bulge. You know i love yall but i need to be clear! As much as i appreciate the concern the best thing you can do to support me as a stylist is come to the salon. Im not feeling negative, its just a reoccurring situation i find myself in. I have had more growth in the year that i have been @thelotusroom_forhair than i did on my own for 5. What i do is more than money and filling time. The networking, the coaching, the exposure and the support all are forces that drive my career and attract the clientele i wish to work with. This is more than just something to pay the bills and i need yall to know that. I plan on doing this for a long time and in order to do so i need to create a foundation.
