Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Charlenea Deck, the woman behind Hidden Treasures Beauty & Wellness Spa.🤎

Beauty has always been my passion, but life has taught me that wellness goes much deeper than what we see on the outside.

As we recognize Menopause Awareness Month, I want to share my personal journey through womanhood, hysterectomy, menopause, and the emotional side of healing.

I'm starting with something I wrote last year about the life I imagined and the life I've actually lived.

Because sometimes healing begins with acknowledging what we've been carrying.

Beauty from the Inside Out.

If you had asked my 16-year-old self what life would look like for me, I would have told you without hesitation—saved, successful, married, with two children, a boy and a girl. That was the dream. I just knew by now I’d have it all together, living the life I had envisioned.

Fast forward almost 30 years… and let’s say life had other plans.

I am saved, but I fall short more often than I’d like to admit. I’ve achieved successes I’m proud of, but I’ve also faced failures that knocked me down. I’m single, with no children, a reality my younger self wouldn’t have imagined. My health has thrown me a few curveballs, but for the most part, I’m doing alright.

I used to believe that if life didn’t go exactly how I planned, then I must have done something wrong. But I’ve learned that life isn’t about checking off a list—it’s about adapting, growing, and making the most of where you are. Sometimes the things we don’t plan for end up shaping us in the best ways.

Through all the ups and downs, I’ve gained wisdom, strength, and a deeper understanding of myself. I’ve learned to appreciate the beauty in the unexpected and to trust that God’s plan is bigger than mine.

So no, my life doesn’t look the way I thought it would—but that doesn’t mean it’s any less valuable, meaningful, or full of purpose. And the best part? My story isn’t over yet.

It’s not just about construction—it’s about finding someone who won’t inflate the prices on you for every single little thing. I’m still in the search of finding the right contractor for the right price, and the process is teaching me patience, wisdom, and persistence.
