That awkward pickup angle you keep fighting? A small turn of your lash tile might help.

When you’re learning to pick up lashes, it’s easy to keep changing how you hold your tweezers because something feels awkward.

Try rotating your tile slightly. This changes how the lash strip lines up with your tweezer tips, so you may be able to approach it without twisting your wrist or repositioning your hand every time.

Make a small adjustment, then try a few pickups. Can you see the lash clearly? Does your wrist feel relaxed? Can you repeat the movement comfortably?

Your grip, tweezer shape and pickup technique matter, so everyone’s setup won’t look exactly the same. Give yourself room to adjust while you learn.

A client showing you an inspiration photo does not mean you shut your brain off and copy the map.

I know we’ve all felt that pressure. 😖 She’s holding up a gorgeous set in a picture, and you’re thinking, Fawwkk, what if I can’t make it look exactly like that?

Ask her what she loves about it first. Is it the texture? The darkness at the lash line? The curl? The length? Because “I want these” can mean five different things.

Then assess her natural lashes, growth direction, density, eye shape, and lid space. That photo was made on somebody else’s eyes. The same map on your client may look different, and some choices may not be right for her natural lashes.

You’re allowed to say, “I can give you that wispy, full look, but I’d change the length and placement so it works better for your eyes.” That’s you doing your job.

Look at the inspiration pic. Ask the questions. Then create a set that makes sense on the woman actually sitting in your chair. 💕

I don’t care if lashes were washed before my clients come in. I’m still washing them before the set or fill! 🧼💦

Makeup, oil, dead skin, and buildup can sit along the lash line even when lashes look clean. 👀 I want to see the natural lashes clearly and apply extensions to clean lashes…. not whatever is left on them from the day. 🫣

It’s a small part of the appointment that’s easy to rush past. I’m going to teach it anyway, because the details matter when you’re working this close to someone’s eyes.
