๐ AT SPOTLIGHT: Time Timer
Each week, we're highlighting an Assistive Technology (AT) item that you can borrow and try for yourself through our free lending library. This week, we're highlighting a simple tool that can help make time easier to see and understand.
๐ What is it?
The Time Timer is a visual timer that represents the passage of time with a colored disk. As time passes, the disk gets smaller, providing a visual way to see how much time remains.
๐ก How might it help?
A visual timer may be helpful for people who:
-Have difficulty understanding the passage of time
-Find transitions between activities challenging
-Benefit from visual supports for staying focused
-Feel more comfortable when they know what to expect
-Need help managing routines and activities
Instead of simply hearing โYou have five more minutes,โ you can actually see those five minutes passing.
๐ Who might want to try it?
The Time Timer can be useful in many different settingsโfrom home and school to work and community activities. It can be helpful for children and adults alike.
๐ค Curious if it could work for you?
You don't have to buy it to find out!
Our Time Timer is available to borrow for trial through our free AT lending library. Try it as part of your everyday routine and see whether a visual timer makes a difference.

Help us make a difference! We are looking for a child-sized wheelchair or adapted stroller (approximately 14-inch seat width) for a 3-year-old in our region. If you have one tucked away in storage or no longer needed, a donation to our program could have a meaningful impact. Please reach out by message if you can help.
