TikTok saw this first, but I think it’s important for me to share it here too. ⤵️

With SO much talk lately about “how expensive” bridal hair & makeup is, I think it’s equally important to talk about what our income actually looks like behind the scenes.

Most brides see that final invoice number and assume we’re pocketing every single dollar, but that’s just not the reality.

That money also has to cover:
• Supplies & product
• Business overhead
• Gas & tolls
• Subscriptions & software
• TAXES 🫠
• And yes… planning for our own futures, too

What we actually take home is SO much less than what you’re paying our business.

And when you really break down the numbers, you start to realize just how much goes into charging enough to actually make a livable income doing this.

I will always respect a client’s budget. There is someone for everyone, and not every artist is going to fit every budget and that’s okay.

But please also respect our rates. 🤎 We’re not trying to gouge you. We’re running businesses, paying expenses, paying taxes, planning for our futures and trying to make a livable wage doing something we love.

There’s a whole lot more behind that final invoice than the number you see. 🫶🏼

MUA: "What kind of makeup are we thinking today?"
Client: "I just want something really soft and natural."
..then they show the inspo photo. 🤭🥴

The truth is, makeup terminology can be confusing if you don't wear makeup every day and that's completely normal!

"Natural glam" and "soft glam" are often used interchangeably, but they can look very different. In this video, Nichole's natural glam doesn't even include foundation or false lashes.

This is why we spend time talking through inspiration photos, your comfort level, and the look you're envisioning before I ever pick up a brush. My job isn't just to apply makeup it's to make sure we're speaking the same language so you leave feeling like the best version of you. 🤍

EYEMAXING for blue eyes ✴️🍊🧡

I saw this trend & had to do it. It's all about doing makeup for your eye color to really make them pop. Whatever is opposite on the color wheel for your eyes, that's the shadow you would want to use. Opposite of blue is orange-for Kenzie I did a softer peachy/orange. You could even do a more orange undertone brown (like a sienna shade) to make it more wearable. ✨
