I get frustrated every time I hear, “Bring back the old stylists,” because people don’t realize how much the industry has changed legally. In many states, braiders, cosmetologists, and barbers all have different scopes of practice. We can’t just do whatever service a client asks for. Doing work outside of our legal scope can result in fines, disciplinary action, and in some cases even losing our ability to operate our business.
And to be completely honest… I’m a Master Braider with over 25 years behind the chair. I just want to braid. That’s what I’ve dedicated my life to mastering. Braiding is already one of the most physically demanding services in the beauty industry. We spend hours standing, bending our backs, using our shoulders, wrists, fingers, and hands nonstop.
I love what I do with my whole heart, but I also have to protect my body. If one day my hands give out or my body can’t take it anymore, my career is over. Clients will simply find another braider, but I have to live with the wear and tear on my body every single day.
So when I ask you to come washed, blown out, or with a fresh cut if needed, it’s not because I’m lazy or don’t care. It’s because I’m respecting the law, protecting my body, and making sure I can continue serving my clients for years to come. Every profession has a specialty, and mine is braiding. Let me do what I’ve spent decades perfecting. ❤️🙏🏽 ❤️💞❤️

Can we normalize not putting all braiders in the same box? 🤍
The scam posts break my heart because they don’t just hurt the clients, they hurt honest braiders too.
I’m new to Phoenix, but I’m not new to this. I’ve been braiding for over 25 years, and I built my business on professionalism, communication, and treating people right.
Yes, I require a deposit. No, I’m not a scammer.
I communicate everything upfront, there are no hidden fees, and if I ever have an issue on my end, I take accountability and make it right.
My goal is simple: give you amazing hair and an even better experience.
I pray Phoenix starts giving more of us legitimate braiders a chance. I promise..we’re out here. 🤍
POV: You finally found a braider who doesn’t play about clean parts, crispy stitch braids, and healthy hair. 😮💨🔥
