Another night praying I’d wake up from all of this.

I worked all day and somehow felt like I’d only gone backward. A bigger mess. More to move. More to figure out.

More. More. More.

It was 10 p.m. Headed home again, aching so badly I could barely stand.

Then I looked up.

Lynda always reminds me to stop for a minute. Tonight, I did. I looked at the moon through the clouds and pulled out my phone.

Hold still. Three seconds.
Then… processing.

I took another picture. Same instructions. A little more light.

A few minutes later, I looked up again.

Same place. Same moon. A completely different picture.

The clouds had moved, and the moon was shining clearly. It was still night. There were still clouds in the sky. But they weren’t covering the light anymore.

And I felt God reminding me: refinement doesn’t happen in an instant.

Sometimes our view is clouded by exhaustion. By grief. By everything we’re trying so hard to carry. We look at what’s in front of us and wonder if it will always look this way.

But even my phone asked me to hold still and allow time to process.

Maybe I need to give myself that same grace.

Time to grieve. Time to breathe. Time to process something I still wish hadn’t happened.

These pictures were taken just minutes apart. I’m sharing all three because the first picture matters, too. That was what I could see in that moment. I just didn’t know how soon the view would change.

Tonight, I still hurt. I’m still tired. I still don’t have all the answers.

But the light was there before I could see it clearly. And God is still here, even when everything around me feels clouded.

I don’t know what the next picture will look like. I’m trusting Him with what I cannot see yet.

Look up.
Pause.
Process.

A — The Father’s Daughter

Father God,

Thank You for being the Way Maker.

When my body became weak, You became my strength.
When pain tried to steal my hope, You reminded me that my story was still being written.
When walls literally came crashing down and I could not see what came next, You reminded me that You have never needed walls to fulfill Your purpose.

Every time I thought it was over, You carried me.
Every time I could not find a way forward, You made one.
Every time fear whispered that I would not make it through, Your faithfulness spoke louder.

You have sustained me through sickness, loss, betrayal, uncertainty, and seasons I never believed I could survive. Yet here I am—not because I was strong enough, but because You were.

“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”
—Jeremiah 32:27

Father, help me trust You in this middle place—when I cannot see the outcome and do not understand the plan. Quiet the doubt that tries to creep in. Remind me that the same God who carried me then is carrying me now.

You have never failed me.
You will not start now.

Even when I cannot see the way, I know You are already making one.
