NEW JERSEY PMU ARTISTS — WE NEED TO TALK.

Permanent makeup has evolved tremendously around the world. Our industry is more advanced, more educated, and more specialized than ever before.

So why are qualified Permanent Makeup Artists in New Jersey still so limited when it comes to tattoo and permanent makeup removal?

We are not asking for unregulated access to lasers.

We are asking for a legal pathway for experienced PMU professionals to obtain additional education, certified laser training, proper qualifications, safety protocols, and licensing that would allow us to perform certain types of PMU/tattoo removal safely and responsibly.

As professionals, we create permanent makeup every day. We understand pigment, skin, depth, color theory, corrections, complications, and healed results.

Removal is often part of creating a better result.

Sometimes the responsible thing is NOT to add more pigment.
Sometimes the client needs old work lightened or removed first.

New Jersey should create a pathway for properly trained and qualified PMU professionals to expand their education and provide these services safely.

Education should create opportunity. Training should create qualification. Regulation should protect clients without preventing qualified professionals from advancing.
