Serenity Tattoos and PMU

I’m so hurt and genuinely disheartened. I want to be angry, but I can’t be. All I can be is transparent and honest. This is one of two tattoos that I have cried more times over than I can count. The truly heartbreaking thing is I’m good at colored tattoos and I’m very good with stippling. While yes I did this tattoo as an “apprentice” it was under the huge misdirection of my mentor. A person who taught me to alter colors by adding white to all of them to create “lighter colors.”

At this point in my career, I have now had more than five separate tattoo artists with a combined experience of more than 30 years. Tell me this is absolutely undoubtedly not how color should ever be altered or tattooed.  there was also other misinformation I was given such as the speed in which to tattoo color especially an OPAQUE color, there’s so many things I could say, but truly all I can say is that I wish I knew then what I know now. The irony is I have pictures included below of color and stippling tattoos I did prior to making the colossal mistake of taking an apprenticeship from someone I paid hundreds of dollars to who taught me things I then had to unlearn to become the artist I am today.  A mentor who was never present, who actually caused me to lose multiple clients including this one. Unfortunately, I was not in a position to refund her 100% of her money after having paid out to the shop 30% and TRUST AND BELIEVE they don’t give anyone there $ back, nor did my mentor ever make any offer to cover up or fix this tattoo. I am not extremely inexperienced. I’m coming up on my 3rd year in body art and my 7th year in permanent makeup.

This is hands-down unacceptable, and I own that 110%. I wish with all my heart and soul I could take it back. But like most artist, I have done a bad tattoo, and I take accountability for making the mistakes I have in my career which first and foremost have been the people I trusted to learn from. A mistake I have and am working daily to advance my knowledge technique and understanding from. I thank God every day for the talented artists who have been humble and kind, and willing to point me in the direction where I have been able to acquire additional education, and training from reputable tattoo artists whose names are synonymous with learning in the tattoo industry. Also, this tattoo is not a reflection of any work that has ever come out of Euphoria tattoo lounge, or anything that ever will, so I think it’s very unfair that this review was left on my Shop’s page, when it was done at a shop that was sold 3 days after I put my notice in.

I have left that shop’s owner and my former mentors names out of this in an attempt to avoid any further harassment or drama, but  I do not do this to people. I take the integrity of your skin more seriously than I do my reputation or my career my coworkers can attest to that. Because things like this should never happen.
