Well Owosso, Jennifer and I have decided we aren't quite busy enough. So as of last night my hat has officially been tossed into the Mr. Owosso ring for the Curwood Festival, Inc. ! My secret weapon will be former Curwood Royalty and all around swell gal EmmaLee Livingston as my campaign manager! We'll announce the organization for which we'll be raising money early next week but I wanted to get the ball rolling and the hype building! Kickoff for the campaign is May 8th at the Knights of Columbus Hall and the fun (and craziness) won't stop for a month! Here's my campaign page! This is a life post:

I have practiced and served in Owosso, MI since 2006! For 12 of these 20 yrs I called Park St my home.

In that home I blossomed and thrived because of the amazing people who entered my life there.

I learned who I truly was, and wanted to be as a professionally licensed skincare professional. (AKA Esthetician). i learned so much more than I thought I would ever learn about the industry that has chosen me all these years. A profession that gives me strength. A profession that offers me the quiet my body and soul deserve.
In that space i experienced:

love
sadness
grief
growth
hope
joy
envy
clarity
births
good health
poor health
the loss of my parents and my baby sister before their time.
A pandemic (and I came back even stronger after the pandemic)

I learned also that I wanted and needed to slow down life.

To focus on slowing down the panic most of my clients have been experiencing because of the events of our world these last few years.

Doing this at park street really helped me understand that life is going to be ok. That it was time to open the next chapter.

that the career that chose me hard eons ago was not done with me, but instead offered me a way to slow down and focus on what I know i can do for the remainder of my life to be involved in the world, using my own two hands.

i am a little sad to leave my home on park street. But knowing that the good vibes i left behind will help those who come in next thrive, as i did, truly helps me move forward into my own new space. Park St is a good fit for someone who needs an office that doesnt require quiet, or a slower pace of life.

I think my landlord for the opportunity to grow myself there.

And now, onto my forever home, with the help of a few very special people..

This grouping over the years here were gifted to me by a special Ronda in my life..

the brain coral is so.....brainish and everyone who notices it comments.
Everyone is enthralled with the heart-shaped shell, and is even more beautiful in person.

the large craggly one is new-to-me.
i think its an agatized squished sponge from Arizona.
Ronda wasnt sure where her mother found it, but it had been in a garden or on a shelf for 75 years.
And she gifted it to ME 🥹

I am going to miss our conversatons when she moves. I am going to miss her "mothers energy" when she moves. Losing my mom was hard, but having Rondas mom energy in my life made walking with the grief easier.
Fond memories of our years together will surface every time I look at these gifts!

I have been silent here for a long time, I know...
SKIN MAVEN LLC IS MOVING!

I have been very busy creating a space for you in a cottage in a quiet residential area, a mere 2 minutes outside of bustling, noisy city limits!
This has been a year of intense collaboration and implementation to create a cozy, private, comforting, insanely quiet space to:

help you unwind
help you slow down your nervous system
help you forget the world, at least for a while
help you enjoy a tiny native landscaping to enjoy our native MI habitat
help you relax without the distraction of building neighbors.

Middlehaven Cottage has been waiting over a decade for me to bring it to a new life.

Effective April 1st, there will be a new address, which will be updated here and via text reminders.

I cannot wait to serve you in the quietness you and I both deserve.
Away from the stress of the world.
A place your nervous system can relax and feel at home.

With Kathryn's commitment to continuing education over more than 22 yrs (and counting!) in Esthetics, she has accrued 6,892 hrs of un-required CE hr's! Over this time she has obtained certifications with MBK Acne Specialist, Oncology Esthetics: Treating Health Challenged and Sensitive skin, Treating Multi-cultural Skin, and ongoing updated for all of these certifications.
