Sometimes looks can be deceiving. A Wood’s lamp is a special UV light used in skin analysis to highlight certain changes in the skin that may be harder to see under normal lighting.

Under the lamp, different areas can appear brighter, darker, or fluoresce differently depending on things like pigmentation, oil/sebum, dryness, buildup, and certain microorganisms.

It can help give us a closer look at what’s happening beneath the surface—but it’s not a diagnostic tool by itself, and not everything you see under a Wood’s lamp represents a skin condition.

Basically… your skin has receipts. 😂🔦

Here’s what I found when I put MY skin under the Wood’s lamp. 👀

When your patient’s significant other starts calling back to back and you’re just trying to do your job 😂 Like hiiii, I promise she’s safe, she’s with me, and yes… you can stop calling now. 😭 All jokes aside I don’t care if you just want to answer the call, or you’ve been waiting for the specific call or maybe you’re literally in a work meeting I will stay quiet and work while you handle business.

The schedule has 14 patients on it and apparently my brain has room for exactly 3 names sometimes.

Listen, I may feel a little ridiculous making TikToks in my 30s 😂 but if I want people to find me, see what I do, get to know me, and eventually book an appointment… I’ve gotta put myself out there! So yes, I’ll be over here making my little videos my kids can’t stand.

I’m always trying to accommodate everyone because if someone needs an appointment, I genuinely want to help them get in. 🥹

So naturally, I convince myself I can squeeze one more person in, still stay on schedule, somehow eat lunch, answer messages, and keep the entire universe running on time. 😂

And then I’m standing there like… I was stupid, I was foolish, I was lying to myself

I really do need to stop trying to make 27 hours fit into a 24-hour day.

When your friends keep saying they need a facial and you’re just waiting for them to finally let you take care of their skin. 😂💕

I’m a full-time mom, a Dermatology Paramedical Esthetician, I run my own business, and somehow I’m also at kids’ sports, performances, appointments, school stuff, and everything else that pops up.

Do I always feel like I have it together? Absolutely not. 😂
Sometimes I’m overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, or doing it all while mentally hanging on by a thread.

But s**t still has to get done.

So you panic. You cry. You take a breath. You keep moving. 😂

You just gotta do it.

You ever catch your reflection at the end of the day and realize you’ve been running on caffeine, conversations, and pure survival mode? 😂 After 13 patients, I’m not even sure who that woman in the mirror is anymore. She’s tired, she’s dehydrated, her hair has given up, but somehow she made it through the day. 😂

There is no greater compliment than a patient saying, “Can I give my friend your number?”

Like YES MA’AM. Please tell everybody. Tell your friends, your family, your coworkers, your neighbor… I suddenly have room for ALL of them.

Sometimes you finish a treatment, look at your work, and I’m completely obsessed with the results. 😂 There’s just something so satisfying about seeing someone leave looking refreshed, glowy, and feeling good about themselves. And yes… I’m absolutely going to sneak one more look. 👀
