3 month progress!!

This is pretty niche, but SLS does occasionally come up when clients are dealing with random issues like a sudden breakout when switching body washes, irritation around the mouth, perioral dermatitis, etc. I wanted to compile a few of my personal favorite finds for anyone who benefits from using SLS-free products but doesn’t know where to start.

Mandelic Acid helps block the enzyme tyrosinase, which is a key factor in the production of melanin. For this reason it can help prevent hyperpigmentation by reducing the overproduction of melanin in the skin.
Both Mandelic and Retinol (or other retinoids) stimulate cell turnover. Retinol is able to do so more aggressively, bringing excess pigment up to the surface at a faster rate, where it will fade over time.
Of course the two won’t do anything for you if you aren’t wearing sunscreen to prevent hyperpigmentation and keep existing pigmentation from darkening! 🧴☀️
