Trained at The Academy Waukesha-A Paul Mitchell School went to work at a trendy Eastside salon where I underwent further Advanced training under some top stylists and colorists in the city. In addition to hair services I began working exclusively on Bridal makeup for wedding parties, fashion shows, and photo shoots. From there I moved my chair to the Historic Third Ward for another year and a half and currently work on-site doing Hair & Makeup for all occasions. I have trained extensively on Goldwell, Paul Mitchell, and Redken color...and on most professional retail product lines for both haircare and cosmetics. I am happy to share product knowledge and recommendations with anyone, I love to educate and makeup is my true passion!!

I already know a few people in this industry will disagree with me on this one, but you’ll never change my mind 😂
I’ve seen it too many times. And more often than you’d think, the “order” falls apart before we even get started. Literally the first person in my chair isn’t the person who was supposed to be there.
And guess what? It doesn’t matter.
As long as SOMEONE is sitting in that chair, we’re moving.
Give me a finish time, a bridal party that knows to be ready when we need them, and let us work smarter. I’d rather switch the order 10 times than waste 10 minutes waiting for the “right” person.

Could never be me
There are parts of this job I don’t think anyone really prepares you for, but are also part of the job IMO.
Sometimes your personal life is completely falling apart and someone else is having one of the most important days of theirs.
So you compartmentalize. You show up. You do the job you promised you would do. And for those few hours, nobody in your chair needs to know because weddings are not about us.
It’s not a fun or pretty part of being in bridal, but it is part of it and it sets us apart. There is no rescheduling or cancelling.
My mom is on a ventilator in the ICU. Right now. Today.
And my bridal party has no idea. And they shouldn’t.
It’s not the first time I’ve done this.
This isn’t a “look how dedicated I am” post. It’s just a very real part of working in weddings that nobody really talks about. Sometimes showing up is a lot heavier than it looks.
