✨ THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A LICENSED ESTHETICIAN & SOMEONE WHO IS “CERTIFIED” ✨
As a Licensed Esthetician , I completed 750 hours of Esthetic school. That means hours of dedicated education, hands-on training, studying skin anatomy and physiology, learning proper skincare techniques, understanding contraindications, and being educated on sanitation, disinfection, and infection control.
Those 750 hours represent time, commitment, practice, testing, and learning the importance of professional standards. My license represents meeting the requirements to practice within my state’s scope of esthetics.
✨ SO, WHAT DOES “CERTIFIED” MEAN?
Someone who is certified may have completed a specific course, workshop, or training program. That certificate can demonstrate additional education in a particular technique or service. However, a certificate alone is not the same as a state-issued esthetician license and does not automatically authorize someone to perform every service.
This isn’t about tearing anyone down. It’s about educating clients so they understand the difference, ask questions, verify credentials, and know who they’re trusting with their skin.
Always ask your skincare professional about their training, credentials, and licensing when required.
