Look at this gorgeous complexion! Fresh from her facial at Skin by Maisha, her skin is radiant, hydrated, and absolutely beautiful.

One thing I’ve learned in my 26 years as an esthetician is that flawless skin doesn’t mean every inch of your complexion has to be the exact same shade.

Our skin naturally has highlights and lowlights. Variations in pigmentation are part of what makes our complexions unique. Genetics can influence how melanin is distributed throughout our skin, contributing to areas of deeper or lighter pigmentation.

I’ve known this beautiful angel since junior high, and today yesterday I the honor of caring for her on her birthday. 🥰

There is something incredibly special about watching someone you’ve known since you were very young grow, evolve and step fully into her gifts. Today, she is a film writer and producer, and I am so incredibly proud of the woman she has become.

This dining experience has been on my mind this evening.

Maybe because I’ve also been watching The Bear, and this season is touching my heart in ways I didn’t expect. Especially because I thought I was all cried out from all the past seasons.

Those who know me know I’m easily moved to tears, by stories that speak to the heart. I will cry a river.

Sitting at the chef’s counter, I found myself watching more than the food. I was watching the teamwork, the precision, the care, and the quiet passion behind every plate. It reminded me that people usually only see the finished experience. They rarely see everything that goes into creating it.

Watching this season of The Bear, has reminded me why I fell in love with esthetics in the first place.

After 26 years, what still fills my heart isn’t just the beautiful result. It’s the intention behind it. It’s creating a space where someone can exhale, feel cared for, and leave feeling just a little lighter than when they walked in.

Whether it’s a beautifully prepared meal or a facial experience, excellence is never an accident. It’s created with purpose, heart, and countless details that most people never see.
